Will probably check it out some time.

Better place to take the woman would be the VanDusen Festival of Lights.

Went last year, don't brother going. It's horrible.

But if you or your gf insist on going, go purchase one of those "Groupon" / "deals".
It's $5.00 for two admission tickets.
There's at least 5-6 "groupon" alike deals going on. Give it a search.

Last year's groupon deal was $9 for 2 entrance fees ANYTIME plus 2 free mugs.

This year's groupon deal is $5 for 2 entrance fees during midweekdays or sunday evenings. WTF

The groupon deals this year sucks.

Went there last year and went yesterday afternoon too. Place seem almost like a ghost town. Only the limited overpriced selection of food items makes it worth while.

If you are into xmas hand made ornaments, might be interesting to check out as well.

Pretty nice to walk through but didn't get a chance to take the train since they were sold out on tickets.

went to this with a girlfriend. tbh, as a girl who enjoys crafts and stuff, this sucked.
went to the festival of lights as first date with a guy from school. the place was kind of cool; (off topic) the guy....he was more friend than boyfriend material. haha.

Im living in Germany right now and all the Christmas Markets here are awesome. Guhllwein (Mulled Wine) = greatest drink on earth. All the towns here are so small (I'm in a place called Oberstdorf) so there isn't much to do. Everyone goes to the Market, it's the place to be.

This is not Oberstdorf (it's Garmish Partenkirchen where I just was). Xmax Markt on the right.

i was also considering going with gf but found out from ppl about how shitty it is. $10 admission gets you nothing, once in you can eat overpriced mediocre food or look at lame toys that you aren't gonna buy cause they're toys and are pricey. Other than that nothing at all to see. Sounds like a money grab which is unfortunate

Yeah it's too bad they charge. It's free here. And the stuff is cheap. I bought a bunch of xmas presents from them.

Went to Bright Nights yesterday it was fun cool looking set ups

Bright Nights was kinda lame. Yeah, there's a lot of lights, but the displays are kinda crappy. It looks like they had people donate everything and they set up stuff that had to do with Christmas, presents, or winter. I think you see more stuff on the train ride, but other than the dude dancing on stilts, it's the same theme as the rest of the deal. With stuff looking so old and worn, they could change it into Fright Nights by changing all the lights to red.

Entrance is by donation. The train ride is $9.00, and lasts less than 10 min.

Planning to take le gf to there as well. It's good if you're into a walk in the park. I think most of the guys won't like it just cause its lights, but you know women, might as well do it for them.

Double date HG? :troll:

It's spelled Gluewein :) If you get a chance to eat at a restaurant, you should try Knoedel, Milch Reis and Currywurst. Yeah, the Christmas market here is nothing compared to the ones in Germany. I lived in Berlin. At least it's a lot warmer here ;)
