: Apartment Dryer Duct Cleaning?

Hi all

I think my apartment's dryer duct is clogged.
(water flows form the duct when the dryer is turned on)

Does anybody know of a service that can clean out the duct from the inside of the apartment?

I found tools online (kind of like a plumbing snake) that connects onto a power drill, that brushes out the crap.... but I'm hoping to just hire somebody to clear the shit out.

Craigslist seems to only have services for houses (access to dryer duct from outside).

Cheers and TIA.

how old is your building?

i thought strata usually takes care of this once every x amount of years, they did for me when i was living in an apartment

maybe double check with them.

Most strata companies do it but in newer buildings, they are usually furnished with a booster fan for your dryer duct (mine does), so you don't really have to clean it as often.

Check with your council to see if they are planning on a duct cleaning...hiring one yourself is going to be expensive, since they will need to drop a line down from the roof (same as window cleaning) to work on your duct from the outside.

Water is normal as your clothes are wet when you put them in the dryer.

exactly, strata should do it

other wise get a shop vac and try vacuming it out, or put it on blower and blow the lint out

outside is the responsibility of the Strata, inside the responsibility of the owner/resident

Depends on Council.
