: Cost of tiling floors and back splash for kitchen?

I'm looking to finally update the home kitchen and would like to see how much it costs to get tiling done and back splash done. I have all the tiles/backslash required and will only require labour + installation materials.

So the question really becomes, how much should labour alone cost? I understand that the cost is normally calculated by square ft or area. So if someone could please give me a general idea of the cost per square ft/area, that would be great!

May note that I'm looking to get some decent work done and will not be giving the job to the lowest bidder. I will, however, be paying cash if that makes a difference at all.

Thanks!

you have ALL materials?

anti fracture membrane, think set, tile, grout, any edge piece you want etc

i'd allow for atleast $4/sq to install since you've supplied the product

how big are the tiles?

small ones (2"x2") will cost more than say 12"x12", but really big ones again will cost more then normal sized tile

Tile sizes are about 7"x14" for floor but I do not have all install materials.

Jay did the tile reno for kitchen and bathrooms. Very good job.

Our price was slightly discounted, because he did some other work for us before.

Don't forget to factor in the cost of transitions and possibly moulding for the bottom of the cabinets (if you choose)
