Correct. I can't even verify if the actual buckles are bought from Tanner maybe from the same supplier at best.

Got it from Don't Mourn Organize (http://www.dontmournorganize.com/), the guy can make anything you want and has gotten pretty solid reviews online. Thought I would give it a shot. Similar to Corter in terms of hand made stuff.

I never said I preferred gucci over LV. In fact, I don't prefer either. I just said that aesthetically, the interlockin G logo beats the LV logo. I don't own a gucci belt, nor do I own an LV belt because in general, people who buy/use those belts are tools. But I mean, if you're gonna spend your money on a logo anyways, might as well spend it on a better logo right? Better to be a bulldozer than a regular hammer right?

I'm curious if anyone has any experience with Maison Martin Margiela belts and their sizing. I wanna pick up a belt online but I'm not sure how their belt size works.

For instance, when some belts say size 32 (85cm), they actually fit people with 30-32 waists. However, sometimes belts with size 32 (85cm) only fit people with 28-30 waists.

Yea I wouldn't freak out unless your wait is over 6 weeks or so considering its made to order. I did notice that on the website it says the hardware is on back order though?

Anybody know where to pick up leather conditioners locally like Obenauf, Neatsfoot, Sedgwick's, or Chelsea?

I'd love to know where to get Obenauf's as I've heard very good things about that stuff too.
I do have some mink oil, picked up from Browns at metrotown though.

There is similar belt to the Tanner Goods (natural) one made by Corter. They recommend protecting the belt with "Obenaufs Heavy Duty LP".


Obenaufs Heavy Duty LP: This should be your top coat after any oils. Obenaufs LP is the leather care choice of Corter leather. It contains waxes and a mixture of oils to really protect leather from water. It will not change the color much if any at all once you've tanned or oiled it, and may leave the leather feeling waxy. Let it dry, and with a couple days use the leather will be shiny, super hydrated, and very protected.

Awesome! I've been wearing my belt for 3 weeks now. The inside is stained from the indigo from my raw denim but you cannot see it. I just finished putting a coat of mink oil, which has caused the leather to darken slightly.

I emailed the guy to ask him exactly what the product does and this is the reply

It will darken the leather and keep it looking nice , not sure about a distressed look but it doesn't protect from uv rays.

How did you belt look after 3 weeks without the Mink oil? After applying Mink oil, how much darker is it? Like a dark brown, or a tan?

Mine just came in a box, with the belt inside. No protective packaging, nor a piece of paper (packing slip, or receipt). The top of my buckle was defective. I emailed them, and they will be sending me a new buckle once they receive new stock.

I actually have an issue with the buckle of my belt. It's gouged at the top corner, and has sharp raised edges. So I emailed them, and once they have stock, they will be sending me a new buckle. Plus I don't have to send the gouged one back. Great customer service on their end.
