Mac airbook refurb?

Just some thoughts that I was considering buy a Mac Airbook refurbished 13inch 2GB 128GB flash storage for $899.00 is this a good deal?

Purpose: to surf the net, check e-mails and something new to play with...

I have a friend who ran OSX via virtual machine on his UL30Vt. ALL devices work perfectly, including the webcam, etc. Just a thought if you really want to go with Mac computing but want to save some $.

The aspire s3 feels cheap. I wouldn't go for that one. All refurb stuff from apple is pretty mint.

Refurb macs from apple are always mint. I think this is the model that you are looking at... It's a 2010 model, decent performer, $400 less that the current i5 model. Note that the refurb only has 2gb of ram and is not upgradable.

Refurbished MacBook Air 1.86 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo - Apple Store (Canada)

Guys you can not compare macs to pcs, apple has much better hardware design (solid aluminum, sleek, glass touchpad, minimal) and features (backlit keyboard, MagSafe power adapter, responsive touchpad gestures), different os (hackintosh does not count) and environment (iTunes, app store, time machine, apple retail store support). Pcs will always cost less but if you want a Mac or if you are Mac user then a pc will never do... Same goes for a die hard windows user switching to Mac.

If you can put up with a few more lbs then give this model a thought. Better performance/dollar value...
