Kind of a weird story...not sure what to think of it. Wonder where she was for all that time.

Happy news for the family though!

she was 8 and couldn't remember any of her family's name?
maybe if she suffered from a terrible head truama that made her amnesic or lived only with her grandpa her entire life...that part of the story seems a little farfetched.

I'm curious to know how she managed to survive by herself during the days after she got lost from her family

:suspicious:

Either she had head trauma from the tsunami, or that's pretty retarded.

Most people would call their parents mum and pops at the age of 8...
on top of that, cognitive functions are not fully developed at the age of 8, but it doesn't mean she doesn't seek food and shelter against nature's elements.

I think it has a lot to do with the education system and being in a rural setting. My niece and nephews would know who to call and their parents first and last names and they are 7 and 8.

its probably from lots of emotional stress.. break down from being alone, findint food, there are many reasons... doesnt necessarily have to be caused by head trauma..

Well my point was that the tsunami (not necessarily head trauma) somehow affected her memory.
Otherwise her not remembering her family member names is very strange.

people can get so mentally traumatized that they forget their family member's name?

unlikely..
