hey guys i work at a hair salon (just a receptionist) really close to this used car dealership on hastings called brilyaan auto and they just got in this 06 g35 coupe and it looks real good from the outside and the guy said it just had one claim where the bumper needed to be replaced. but after i talked to him and he left i looked closer at the vehicle and noticed what appears to be rusting at the wheels and everything? what does this mean exactly and what could this be an indication of? car is priced at 19k$ also...

^ I seen those same kind of rust on brand new cars at official dealerships too
Those are the brake rotors, not the wheels. Surface oxidation is common there, even on new cars parked on the lot.

I like how you introduced yourself as a receptionist at a hair salon.

Are you talking about the wheels or the rotor? If you're referring to the rotor, that's just common surface oxidation ("rust"). It's nothing to worry about. Virtually every car on the road here will get it if the car hasn't been driven for more than a day or two. It comes off with only a quick brake while driving. Or, if you're anal, a spurt of Brake-Kleen will do it as well.

hey, i think that is my car, i traded it in to get a dodge and they sold it to a car dealership
if it is my car, its an 06 g35 coupe black, with sport tuned suspension and bridgestone blitzak tires
also that flake from the wheel looks like mine too, wheels are curbed too (they were my winter beater rims)
i sold that car for $15,000
its not just 1 accident!, there was 2 hit and runs, the entire right side got keyed before, a car back into it, i was rear ended, and a car side swiped me cause a 7000 dollar claim, so all in all there was 12000 worth of claims
if you are interested in buying it, check the back seat, fold it down, there is a hole at the back for where part of my audio system ran some wires
also while the rear is folded down, if you look at where the rear seat belts go into the rear pillars, there are cuts on there, that's where i had to cut out the seat belt so i can get the pillars painted black and get my suede roof in (before i parted it out and went to stock)
another is the rear license plate lamps (to light the plate) is missing, wiring is there but it would cost 250 to replace the bracket and bulb housing
the car has about 90k on it i think
but the coils, struts, rear camber arms have 50k on it
servicing was done REGULARLY, and used synthetic oil, wheel alignment was done before i traded the car in. engine runs strong and exhaust has no leaks
the driver side lower seat looks like newer leather because of a recall
also i had a nail stuck into the side of one of my summer tires and when the wheel rotated, the nail grazed the wheel well, so if you look at the passenger rear wheel well you will see some scrapes
this is all assuming that it is my car and that they didn't hide anything with touch up paint or extra fabric
if you are seriously interested in buying it, show them the problems i pointed out, tell them 19,000 is stupid high and they are lying about the claims, i would only take it for 16-17 IF THEY FIXED IT ALL

Wheel looks curbed as well. Did you lose some races last night in your rsx, so now you need MOAR POWER?

that's not rust on the rotors, that's dried brake dust, no matter what you will see that after a rainy day or a wash, as soon as you apply the brakes, the pads will brush it off, the rust on the caliper tho, that is weird, i have NEVER had that issue, it could just be on the surface and needs to be wiped down, or somebody screwed up when inspecting the car

used car dealership on hastings
JUST STOP RIGHT THERE
do not pass go, do not collect $200.... Any USED car dealership on hastings and/OR kingsway, be VERY VERY careful... nuff said

even then, wouldnt $16k still be too high for a car with all those claims?

^ Biggz is a club friend of mine, very good guy.... and all these claims on the car are all cosmetic, 16k is a good price... it just had to do with repainting panels because he has the worst luck when it comes to hit and runs, haha, dude left my house one time for lunch, came back an hour later and his whole fckin rear side was swiped by some lady in a tercel
and a big lulz at a used car dealership bullshiting about the number of claims, used car dealers love grindin your gears

i have done many ghetto things to my car , but damn :heckno:
hope you didnt have friends riding in the back using that belt

^lol, the actual seat belt was not cut, the seat belt goes through the pillar, so in order to take out the pillar, you need to cut a line behind the belt to slide it out of the pillar, but its not seen when the back seats are up
also g-spec is right, my car was a magnet for bad luck, everything was cosmetic, nothing structuraly damaged

always pay for an independent inspection. Don't trust what the dealer says.

mmm i understand why the disc are rusty.. but can't explain why the calipers are like that too..:confused:
EvoFire

The discs are normal as everyone said.
The calipers may have been replaced, ie not original. Some remans don't have that anti rust coating on them and they will surface rust like that.
