I've been wanting to play with a Meizu device for a long time.
They look like incredible bang-for-buck devices.

They are also positioning themselves to be a market leader.
How aggressively you ask?
They will be releasing a quad-core phone in 2012.

I can't wait until they kick the world wide mobile market in the ass.

This is incredible news. Mind blowing.

Which part of the city in Vancouver is Hong Kong?

since you posted this it must be local.

I might go check it out today after the gym. I saw pics of a huge lineup for the opening though, so it might be a zoo.

Is it pronounced "my-zoo"? "me-eye-zu"? "mey-zoo"? "my-jow" (in that weird sounding Mandarin language)?

Apple should start using USB... I can't count the number of times I'm in need of a cable but all my friends on BB or Android only have USB

But then they won't be able to charge $40 for a charger.

i remember i bought an mp3 player from this company before off ebay. think it was 5-6 years ago... can't remember exactly. but it was pretty good product when compared to an ipod. was tempted to get one of their phones at the time too.

interesting to see they have a store here.

meizu mx looks fucking slick. I am definitely considering it when te next gen quad comes out and so does the iphone 5. Its gonna be a good year for mobile phones!

Oh yea, and apparently during the time period between announcement and the opening of HK store they found that people were overclocking the phone once they got it...so the just clocked it up to the full 1.4 GHz to save the trouble. That is how a company should operate :woot2:

They never will, that 30pin connection serves as audio, video support as well. That's why there's a 30pin to hdmi connector and no usb to hdmi.

I believe Europe now requires a universal connection, so Apple has to package a USB adapter in all of their phones. Too bad they can't do the same thing here.

lol, at first I thought this was some sort of iPhone knock off.
So this is a legit and well known brand?

Based on the replies in this thread, seems like this is a good phone.

i duno... theres not much "copycat" of apple i can see in meizu. the design of the mx is a little like the white 3g/3gs and they do have the same style of in-store service but when did anyone ever say only apple can have hands-on technicians in store? i mean the "windows store" is doing the same thing right now too
