What could have caused this?

Notice the huge spike in temperature on "core #0"?
All I did was play some battlefield 3 for a bit earlier today.

Built the rig in Sept, played bf3 since launch...and this has never happened before.....system usually maxes at the mid 50's

Could it be a false reading?

its an i5 2500k, with an H60 cooler

Seeing as all the "cores" are in the same "housing" (as it were), it's simply not possible for one to actually be that far out of whack without taking the others with it... plus it would probably be dead by the time it hit 100.

Faulty sensor would be my guess.
