Agreed. Eventually people would start to realize, that spending all that time/effort/money into getting these ridiculous fitments, is not worth it or even cracked up to all the hype. I was never a fan of this look, even before it took off. I remember when it was mainly the VW guys you'd see running these retarded fitments. I LOVE a flush set up, but some of the set ups you see guys runnin'... jesus. and don't get me started on some of the crazy tire streching that's needed too.
I'm big on people doing what they want to their cars. This scene shouldn't be like grade school, where you need to do certain mods to feel 'cool'. If you like the hellaflush/wheel poke, great. But I bet in a few years this trend will follow the eurolite tail lights/Fast & Furious trend, that everyone thought was cool back in the day. Don't lie, you probably thought that shit was cool at the time too. :D

There was a hellaflush thread about a year ago, everyone going on about how this was THE thing and it would be around forever... I said at the time it wouldn't last and they all told me I was nuts.
Ha.
Remember when wood panels were cool? How about big flames down the sides? How about slicks on the back and bicycle wheels on the front of everyone's daily driver? Or welded-chain steering wheels? Dingleballs? Kleenex boxes in the back window?
Stupidest thing is, none of these setups are actually "flush" in any aspect.
flush2 [fluhsh] Show IPA
adjective
1. even or level, as with a surface; forming the same plane: The bottom of the window is flush with the floor.
2. having direct contact; being right next to; immediately adjacent; contiguous: The table was flush against the wall.
adverb
9. on the same level; in a straight line; without a change of plane: to be made flush with the top of the table.
10. in direct contact; squarely: It was set flush against the edge.
verb (used with object)
11. to make flush or even.

I've stayed very quiet about this trend. The few times I've spoke up about it, suddenly I get looked at like I just shit my pants, or if it's online, I get roasted on how I don't know shit, or other stupid comments from 16yr old's that are still borrowing their mom's Corolla. I've given up trying to explain to some guys, how tire stretching can be dangerous, etc. The typical response I get is: "But it looks sick man!". Sigh.
We should just let the VW scene carry on with this trend, and we can all go back to proper set ups that are actually functional.

Suddenly I want to listen to One Love by Bob Marley...
What's worse is when some of these guys get pulled over, and cry foul claiming the cops are looking to fill a quota, or they don't have anything better to do like solving "real crimes".
The cops are not going to stay up to date with the latest fads in car culture and whether they're safe or not. If it looks unsafe, they have a duty to act on it. If that means pulling you over in your heatscore ride, that's something you should learn to live with. You made the decision to have your car look that way, you deal with the consequences. Don't try to pass the fault onto somebody else. The cop didn't make your car look like that.

lol, so apparently hellaflush is dead now because Soundy told everyone so at a previous meet and now it's dead ? :smug:
...... ok back to reality, let's start with facts....
- it's getting bigger every single year
- there are dedicated shows for hellaflush now especially in the States, ALL over the states
- most regular shows now you got hellaflush guys matching if not outnumbering regular show cars
you guys saying it's a fad are either very uninformed or obviously have a strong bias....I have no problem with the bias everyone has opinions, but please don't talk out your ass....
There's a lot of morons bandwagoning the scene as of late so I understand the hate towards the scene, but look at the facts and you're forced to consider this more than a trend... it IS a scene that's here to stay... and contrary to YOUR belief it didn't come out of nowhere the other year, the only reason you're sittin there hating on it is because of a massive influx of people switching over to it recently, but it's been around much longer than that.
The fad comments are ridiculous, especially when you consider a fad in the automotive community has a lifespan of a few years. Proof is in the puddin, take a look for example the chrome spinner fad, or the Fast & Furious rice kit/spoiler fad..... now THOSE are fads...
but something that's been around since the 80's and even earlier and is getting stronger and bigger year after year....
are you fucking kidding me ? this... a fad ?

I agree, i dont mind hellaflush as long as its properly done with proper wheels/tire sizing and proper fender work.
However the scene is getting polluted by young kids today just slapping on their mexi 18x10 wheels with -5 offset on 215 tires without any major fender work and calling it 'hellaflush', which is dangerously stupid and also looks stupid.
your car is a good example of a well done hellaflush, wide wheels, beautiful fender work, and most importantly you utilize 255 and 285 tires..
example of a bad hellaflush... mexi-poke, 215 tires on 10inch wheels, no fender work. i see fitments similar to this quite a bit in my local area with skaterboy looking kids driving and all i do is facepalm
http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z379/jpark881/IMG264.jpg
example of a good hellaflush (although its a little too low for my taste), 285 tires, flared and pulled fenders
http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z379/jpark881/6007812735_abeda5afa1_b.jpg
although my personal preference wouldnt go towards the hellaflush route on a functional sports car, i can still appreciate the good work put into it.. however when it comes to luxury level cars or non-sports cars (lexus gs, ls430, accord etc etc.) i am all for hellaflush

It's a rip off from what the Germans have been doing for years due to their tires/wheels regulations. The Japaneses ripped it off in their VIP styling.
And then theres the American VWs **** and their retarded roof racks, rust and sticker bombing.

thanks West and that's my winter mode driving height too, I go an inch lower to tuck half tire in summer.
SpuGen is right, the Silvia drifter guys started doing this quite a while ago too, they stretched tires for drift weekends so they would have less sidewall tire flex which made for smoother drifts... so there's a kicker to the guys saying it's completely unfunctional, there is at least one major function it can serve at times, lol
Even everyone in the scene is divided, me for example I don't even like seeing true sports cars like the S2K done anything further than flush and proper tire sizes... but a lot of the S2K guys are doing it wrong like in the pic jPark posted with mexi poke and whatnot, just idiot kids who have no idea wtf they're doing and are fresh outta high school eager to belong....
I have a heavy luxury sports coupe so I'd rather blow 10-15 grand on wheel/tire/suspension combo than spending that to turbo it and still lose to a stock STI on the strip, fck that...

you can have your car decked out in as many aftermarket parts as you like, but if you cant wash it properly whats the use.
people use those brushes to wash their dirty daily beaters including wheels and tires. then you use the same brush and apply it your freshly waxed car. unless you dont really care about your paint condition, only your suspension... :suspicious:

I clean the brush with the pressure washer gun before using it. For those of us who live in apartments without access to a space to bucket wash, there isn't an alternative that I know of.
It doesn't matter what car you own or even if you have one at all, whether you modify your car or not, if you bucket wash or go coin operated; those are all just irrelevant details, it's a genuine love of cars at that makes you a real enthusiast, nothing else.
s300ae

I don't even share wash mittens with my friends because I have no idea where theirs had been.
Are you to tell me that not a single time has the plastic part of the brush touched your car? I've washed my car plenty of times at the coin wash since I too live in an apartment... And I bring my bucket to wash world. By hand it's more time consuming but it's worth it. After spending money on getting the wheels polished and car detailed by ken, you learn to appreciate the work and time that goes into a nice finish. No matter how well you think you cleaned the brush, you'll still leave deposits and make swirls.
Now I have a beater with old paint so I don't give a shit.

The tires are Toyo R888 factory size 235/305 with 7mm front and 15mm rear spacers. The car has -2.2 of camber in the front and -2.5 in the rear and lowered about an inch. mainly set up with cornering performance in mind.

those are all just irrelevant details, it's a genuine love of cars that makes you a real enthusiast, nothing else.
Agreed, everyone might love something different about the cars and there's not necessarily a right or wrong. I don't like dropping my miata to a height that would tuck my 195/50/15 tires running -4 (and up) degrees of camber and beating the shit out of the undercarriage because for me I just love the way it handles with a proper alignment and it also breaks my heart to do something that hurts my car that I can easily avoid. And simply put, if you're trying to call yourself a car enthusiast but can't tolerate someone else's way of doing things, YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG!
Honestly there are things you can do to your car that aren't right in any respect but 90% of the time you should be able to respect your fellow man and his way of personalizing his car even if it's not to your preference
I guess the best way I can put it in words is the guys who do it right are gonna always rock it, while the bandwagon jumpers who don't really know what they're doing, these guys are the ones that are gonna move onto something else. I'm good with that even if it means the haters come out in full force, it just means the fadriders are gone and only the og's are left...
This is a win win for hellaflush haters and lovers, gotdang why am I just realizing this now, lol, cuz what you'really hatin on is guys like in this first set of pics, but you cant hate when it's done right as evident in the second set of pics, cuz that shit is hellaflush AND hellafunctional and that's what doing it right looks like :fuckyea:
So less of this

Noob question: his suspension goes up and down at an angle because of a camber kit? or some other modification?
First, you gotta have independent rear suspension. And his "suspension" isn't at an angle persay, it's just that the tire has negative camber that's why it looks that way. So yes, a "camber kit" (ie. camber plates allowing for adjustment) was required.
I didn't watch the video but i'm assuming that's what you were wondering?

lookin sexy Jordan, what suspension you running?
TRdood the wheel on the Porsche would tuck in like that even without a camber kit, it's just the natural motion of suspension travel. Your stock car's wheels do the exact same thing, but offcourse yes pretty much anybody upgrading their ride height has adjustable camber kits

any of the hellaflush rides going to the 2012 Spring Meet?
I am working on a new RS project and need some "hellaflush" rides to rock my new deconstruction decal for the Spring Meet. If your car is considered "hellaflush", please send me a pic via PM for more details.

Half of these cars barely have "good" regular fitment let alone hellaflush.
I have no pictures of my car not moving since I don't hard park. As close as I get to being "flush" since I need fender space due to actually driving on the track/autoX.

I appreciate the PM's. The new decal design can be seen on my Twitter sig. Some like it, some don't.. that's fine. But what I'm trying to do is create something new and something fresh. Something for you guys on rs, specifically. For those who share my vision for the decal, thanks I appreciate the support and may we share its success.
