Even the guy who reported it thinks it's an isolated incident, people here tend to be more vocal about these things too, especially considering the turnover at a typical mcdonald's restaurant here I highly doubt local stores could get away with something like this.

one of my uncles used to work at a Pho Hoa, and he told our family that there was a dead rat in the pot of pho broth but they still served it out to the customers 'cause they didn't want to waste it

I work at a grocery store and one time I was working the bread. It comes on trays, in stacks about 10-15 high, on standard sized pallets. I usually just tip one stack off the pallet at a time and work it.


Anyways, this one time I took off the first stack off the pallet, and worked it to the shelf and everything was normal. Went for the second and I saw something grey fall out when I was tipping the stack to get it off the pallet, and the grey thing ran into the bakery. I thought "wtf was that?" .. then I realized it was a mouse. Went and told some of my older coworkers and asked em what to do, they laughed and said to just keep working the bread to the shelf.


Then it happened 3 more times(I mean to say, 3 more mice/rats jumped out and scattered into the store, from the same stack of bread lol) on the same stack of bread and I decided fuck it, I better call a manager before I either get bit a rat/touch rat poo/one of them goes up my pant leg. My manager had me drag the last stack into the back room (as it was now around opening and people were just starting to walk in) and we took each tray off, one by one. I think we found around 5 trays with mice in it that we had to throw into the garbage.

Anyways ... had it just been one mouse or two I know my manager would not have cared. If I refused to work it, he would have just sent me home and gotten someone else to do it/put me on another job and gotten someone else to do it. That's just how it is with these crappy minimum wage jobs. Since that day I've never seen a rat while working there, and in their defense the pallets are plastic wrapped so those mice actually came from the warehouse that ships out the bread, not the store.

When I worked at the Lansdowne one, it wasn't uncommon to find a mouse in the traps that we had. Still <3 McDs though.

at my mcdonalds we saw a rat once under the assembly table. it was during a really busy time so the floor was quite messy (couple fries, sesame seeds from the buns everywhere, a bit of lettuce and onions) we would get a nice broom in as soon as it settles down but for the time being, we had no choice. anyways, i was working when a rat runs out from underneath the table, fucking stares at me for a second LOL, and grabs a fucking fry about 1.5x it's body length, not including tail and runs back under the table AHAHAH

i thought it was pretty funny but in all seriousness, my managers all freaked the fuck out and took it pretty seriously. called some people and had the place inspected.
i don't know if they are more worried about the customer's safety or for their asses if the guys from the head office come and finds it.
either way it was taken care of.

thats a managers worst fear...that and area managers randomly showing up.

lol this kind of shit happens everywhere, even at the bakery's the buns and breads come from. i used to work at a local bakery and whenever something fell on the floor, such as, breads, buns, muffins etc etc they were just brushed off and put right into bags. unless the bread etc is made by you in your house, you have no idea how it was treated before it got to you.
