| Installing MAC OSX on my Acer netbook help!
Hey guys,
I have an acer aspire one 521 - Link to specs LINK
I am wondering how to install mac OSx. I'm hoping to keep some basic necessities working (WIFI being the main one, I can live without sleep).
I have been a windows guy my whole life and I would turn to linux if I wasn't a gamer.
Any help appreciated! I was wondering if I can use any Acer Aspire one guide or one specific to 521. I was looking at this LINK called the hackintosh netbook compatability chart and there is no mention of the 521....
Thanks RS! I don't know where to start

Like I said, I want to avoid ubuntu since I am a gamer
The reason I want mac OSX on my netbook is because I like the small size of my netbook, and I like the mac OS. Why is that so hard to believe? Lots of people do it... If mac came out with a netbook, I'd buy it. Unfortunately a macbook or macbook air is not what I want, I Just want the os.

its tedious work, i spent 2 months perfecting my desktop for a hackintosh. At the end of the day, its still not a mac. So I use it for fun. I still use my windows as primary. In my opinion, speaking from experience, its almost not worth it. There is your unexpected crashes which is annoying. It's far from perfect. I don't think you should be asking, just read and read. If you need to ask alot of questions about it, I say ditch the idea and just stick with windows.

Did you just download one of the hackintosh packages and then have to fine tune it?
I have been reading for the last little while and it honestly doesnt seem worth it...... |

If you're not proficient at configuring computers do not even attempt this. It's going to just be way more hassle than it's worth.
I'd like to say I'm proficient at the various hackintosh laptops/netbooks I've done and even then I have my fair share of problems with all the hacked files, bootloaders, drivers, and hardware compatibility issues in order to get OS X working.
I can already tell you right away just by looking at the specs of your netbook that you're going to have problems from the AMD CPU to the Radeon GPU.

so you're a gamer, but you want OSX? why not dual-boot Ubuntu and Windows? You can try to hackintosh it but typically it's easiest if you buy hardware someone else has already confirmed as stable for a hackintosh.

What !MiKrofT said. It's been a while since I've tried any type of Hackintosh but my understanding was that it was really only possible because the hardware was close to what Apple used. Having a non Intel chipset for starters is going to make it very difficult...The ones that are approved are probably all using Intel based CPU/chipsets.

Windows has alway been the leading OS for gaming.
Macs are good for multimedia type
Linux are the best for hacking into shit... Quote:

If you're not fairly proficient with computers, don't bother making a hackintosh. You'll probably rip your hair out before it works properly.
A hackintosh requires very specific hardware, so if it's on a compatibility chart, you have a shot. If it's not, don't even bother thinking about it.
