The new XL isn't even that much more compaired to a L. There is no point buying it cause it's skinnier.

Its 4oz bigger, or 20% bigger. I'd say that's a lot more Timmies shits in the morning. :sweetjesus:

LoL... all the existing sizes are still there, just that they got moved down the scale of sizes.
Old XL became L
Old L became M
Old M became S
Old S became XS

the new XL is the same size as Starbuck's Venti (20 oz) while the new large is 16 oz.

smart in the sense that ppl like me who dont go there much will say "medium" or "small" by default and will now pay more than they wouldve before without really realizing it
also makes sense since their sizes were damn small compared to other chains...altho they are also way cheaper and i kinda liked that

haha yeah, i got jipped twice too. they had a sign up saying they were changing sizes but they didn't start it until recently... probably today for some locations.

Changed today and I have some potentially bad news...
TL/DR - they pretty much just introduced a new size for $2.20 and renamed them
Previous Prices (taxes in):
XL - $1.95
L - $1.78
M - $1.50
S - $1.34
New Prices in effect (taxes in):
XL - $2.20
L - $1.95
M - $1.78
S - $1.50
XS - $1.34

I wish I developed the taste for coffee. Almost 27 and still don't like it. Although I do love the smell of coffee beans >_<

Doesn't that mean, that nothing really changed. Like if I pay for a medium coffee, it won't be exactly $1.50 anymore.
So even though sizes became "bigger", prices are the same

Welcome to the world of marketing
They basically want customers to come in more often, as they "think" they are getting a better deal, since a) the cups are now larger, or b) they can pay one size cup smaller..to get what they normally would have received.
But at the end of the day, its still the same. You didn't think Tim Hortons would lower their income now, would you?

So now you order a small coffee, an you'll get the exact same amount of coffee you've always been getting, for the exact same price of $1.50.
Could they have kept all the existing sizes the same and called the new one XXL? I'm sure they could have... but I guess their marketing team decided doing it this way will bring in more money.
I think they're banking on people just ordering a set size, no matter how much content there actually is. If someone usually orders medium stuff, they'll still order a medium now.

They changed their cup size to match McDonald's. Instead of adding a XXL, you can now go to Timmies or McDicks and use the same word to actually get the same cup.

i had one this morning. usually the old XL didnt fill me up. I was full after this one.
besides, from a marketing point of view, its easier for the consumer to say XL, not XXL. makes sense to move them up in size without actually adding a new one.

interesting to note
coffee per dollar:
XL 10.9oz/$1
L 10.25oz/$1
M 7.86oz/$1
S 6.67oz/$1
XS 5.97oz/$1
incl tax

It's about time. Every time I go to Timmy's I always have to remember to "size up" because their cups are so small compared to everyone else's. Timmy's hot chocolate is so good! :D

extra big size will most likely equal to more cream and sugar: hello diabetes

cream contains so much fat. i made the switch to milk a couple of years ago; now cream tastes disgusting haha.
if you really want to be healthy, you'll drink your coffee black. otherwise, reducing the sugar and switching to milk helps a lot.
I personally use 2 milk, 1 sugar. sometimes when they mess up and give me no sugar i'm fine with it too.
just got an XL.... do they ever fill to the top ever?
they had about 2" left to fill... choked

I used to add milk & sugar to my coffee. I started drinking black when my boss would bring me coffee and not add anything to it, and I was too lazy to go and add it.
Now I pretty much only drink black. I might add a little bit of honey on the weekend, or some Bailey's when I'm on vacation.
But I like my black coffee strong, Tim Horton's coffee is way too weak for me.

Taken from the other thread: http://www.revscene.net/forums/554883-tim-horton-raise-prices-4.html#post7772785
THIS is exactly what Tim Horton's management wants:
Along with the change in the cup sizes the price i guess have adjusted accordingly. The large french vanilla use to cost 2.15 with the old cup sizes now it costs 2.45 with the larger size. not gonna complain cause this cup is huge..lol

Is it just me or did they just add "Cafe & Bake Shop" to their slogan along with the new sizes?
I just saw a commercial that said, "Tim Horton's Cafe and Bake Shop" and I noticed it on the new cup...hmmm...they trying to overhaul their image?

Just got XL today. Think cup size is roughly about the same size as McD's Large.
Not sure... I don't have a McD cup to compare with.
But the price is $2.20 (tax included).

Technically, the cups DID get bigger...
If you order the same size as what you normally order,
it will be bigger (but with a higher price).
