: InvisibleSoul's Group Buy Website Deals Thread

There are so many of these group buy websites around now, and a lot of the deals are not very good and/or not very interesting... but from time to time, something worthy pops up.

If you spot one that you think would be of interest to people here on RevScene, post it up!

As per standard RevScene rules, do not post a links with referrals, or else the ban hammer will hit you hard.

The Peking Duck in 2 courses deal isn't bad as well, some may complain about the terms (i.e. minimum 4 people per table/have to make a reservation).

$17 for a Peking Duck in 2 courses at Bing Sheng Restaurant (Reg $34) | The Red Pocket – Vancouver Daily Deals (http://www.theredpocket.com/deals/sidedeal_detail/131)

LoL, TheDailySteal.

Don't know if you had a browser problem or they had a temporary problem of their end, but I've bought several deals from them in the last week... no problems at all.

Not in my experience. I almost exclusively visit 2 locations. I goto the one on Kingsway and Nanaimo mostly because the drive-through is 24 hour and their spicy chicken is better marinated.

I don't know what they do with the spicy chicken at the Fraser and 41st location; it's bland and the skin isn't crispy.

Churches > KFC any day of the week.

KFC used to be good. Now they suck to the bone (pun intended).

Secret recipe my ass. It does not taste the same as it used to. Changed the recipe, they did.

Churches is, like you said, hands down the winner.

Actually, I kind of like the fried chicken from Donald's Market on Hastings..... oddly enough, right next door to Churches. Being cheaper helps a lot, too.

Churches taste like shit when you eat too much.

I just had Lee's yesterday. I only get the spicy/crispy. Some may thing there's a bit too much batter but I think it's ok. The texture is really good, as is the flavour. Pricing is good too at $5 tax in for 2pc leg/thigh, fries and gravy. If you've never been there, definately try the onion nuggets. Oh yeah, i went to the one in PoCo - it's on the NE cor. of Prairie and Coast Meridian.

I loves me my Church's but only when it's really fresh.

BTW anyone find it ironic that most Lee's are run by Koreans? On another note, Lee's was founded by Col. Sander's nephew, Lee Cummings.

I find the Mac Shack overpriced. So today's Groupon makes it more reasonably priced.

^Yes, it is too good to be true. According to RFD detectives, it is not a scam but a smart marketing ploy. Overpriced product, minimum number of item needs to be bought, conflicted opinion on quality of meat you receive.

It is. If it's the same as they've offered before, you have to pay a huge shipping charge on top. Then, the gift certs you get are like, 4x$50. You can only use one coupon per order, and if you check out their website, each box of meat is like 80-something or 90-something bucks, so you're still paying quite a bit.

I looked into it last time they posted... so I'm not sure if it's the same deal as they offered last time, but if it is, not really worth it.
