I have always been a fan of gas powered RC cars. Just wondering if you guys have some tips for a first timer?

I am wondering if I should buy new, used? Should I avoid buying cheap ones if they are prone to break?

Also, if there is a hobby shop around vancouver. I am pretty inclined and I am not sure if you buy them, or assemble them yourself (motor comes intact OFC)
