1. proprietary media...seriously I can't believe sony is still shoving this down people's throat to prevent 'piracy'...wake up sooner or later someone's going to turn it into a micro SDHC adapter.
2. no HD screen

maybe when they release revised vita that allows ps3 cloud gaming/remote play...i'm game.

I got mine heres what I think

1. It feels great. Dont be turned off by the size when I first saw it I was like damn its pretty big but holding and gaming on it feels great! Your hands dont cramp up like when you play a 3DS or smart phone game for 30 mins.

2. The price is good to 249$ is a steal yeah it has proprietary memory so what its still better than what people projected the price to be which was at around 400$

3. I got Uncharted GA and MvC3. Uncharted looks fantastic I think it looks better than the console version just because of the screen. People talk about resolutions meh I cant notice the difference the experience is still great the FPS is good and thats all that matters

IMO this is way better than buying a tablet and carrying around a stupid controller and telling people that its a portable gaming machine. HEH if I wanted to do that I would rock out my ASUS laptop and play BF3 1080P and show you whatsup.

$ by $ Vita is > any tablet in the market right now. The games feel like their true console ports and with the different variety of controls from buttons, to front touch to rear to gyroscope the controlls are endless.

I recommend a Vita if you really love video games and if you have 249$ to spare. It even has some apps and has a browser so if your thinking about buying a tablet meh might as well buy a Vita it will get you through the day.

Also features like Remote Play (play PS3 games on your Vita) and the potential to be a extended controller only makes the purchase better.

Just my 2 cents.

THe majority of casual gamers will play games on their phones. But there are still alot of CORE gamers out there and once games like CoD, Madden, NHL and true console ports hit the market with online play people will jump ship and play this on the go.

Smartphone games are meh sure they can be cool time killers but they also drain your battery. I rather game on a dedicated device and save my phones battery life for important things such as communication.

I still see a market for dedicated gaming. Gamers will buy it regardless also people said the same thing about PC's back in the day. Why would people want to buy a console when the PC can do everything... Look at how that backfired.

I like using mine at home because its pretty much pick up and play. On a console you have to power up your tv, power on the console, wait for the GUI to load, play the game, go through all the opening cinematics, continue your game.

On a Vita I press power on bam it starts off where I left off right away no need for other BS. Its great for playing when your on your computer or watching something on TV.

yes playing games on a phone kills the battery...but most people aren't playing over 20 minutes anyways

looking at all the handheld gaming device since the smartphone market allowed games to dominate...even with 3DS taking a huge price cut the sales are still poor. You have to agree there's only a decent market for portable devices only if there's a mod community behind it.

I do not think the PS Vita sales will be any better if it remains hacked-free...otherwise it will become quite a niche market imo

digital copies are usually 10% cheaper on psn store plus right now psn is bugged out where u don't pay tax so u save an additional 12%

bought shinobido 2 on psn for $34 and no tax online..

then bought MvC3 and Uncharted as a physical copy because i dont want it taking space on my memory card.. damn the game has updates just regular ps3 games that can take space from ur memory card.. averaging 100mb or so

whats interesting to note is for those that picked up LBP and mod nation racers for psp when sony offered free games from psn after getting hacked back in june

the 2 games shows on my download history yet i cant download them on Vita, nor is not even listed on the PSP selection on the psn store from the portable..

but shows up on my download history on ps3.. so i downloaded the 2 games on the console, then connected vita through usb and the vita didnt recognize any of the games at first.. did a reboot and viola! the Vita recognizes LBP psp and i was able to transfer the game on my portable.. but it didnt recognize Modnation Racer

its interesting to note because MNR game is already out on Vita and LBP is also coming out on Vita in couple of months as a straight port of the ps3 version.

I impulse bought one . I like it and will keep it since i own all the current systems already. I hope HTML5 gets fully added, pretty disappointed there isn't a YouTube app. I bought a 4gb card with the starter kit just to tide me over. the show is a superior series to 2K in baseball every season. i like the road to the show, nhl be a pro equivalent and with the vita and ps3 version u can continue ur career on either console whenever. $20bux off if u buy both together. if you never played it i guess wait for the demo which will probably be out in the next couple of days and see if you'll like it. but it's definitely way better than 2k series

not all psp games that is available on ps3 psn is listed on psn vita, i guess they are looking if any games arent compatible on the handheld, or holding back because similar games are already available (modnation racers and lbp)

The only issue for would be the control scheme.
Every single button was used on the PS3

logged about 4 hours of playing time on dragon's crown. i can see why i've read that it was a solid game. quite fun. i like how you can add AI toons to create a party as well, it allows you to have tanks if you decide to play a sorc.

I d/l the demo for ragnarok odyssey ace and that seems like a cool game as well. i might hold off on it as sword art online infinity moment is releasing this summer

If you like the Uncharted series its definitely fun and enjoyable. I played it when I first got my Vita and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My only minor complaint about it is that they really tried to push you to use front and back touch controls to show what the Vita was capable of. Due to this some parts (not all) can be annoying, but other things are kinda cool.

Last thing is that the controls are a bit odd at first since the two analogue sticks don't work as well as a Dualshock, though you'll probably get use to it.

I’m playing Castlevaina SoTN on my Vita right now.

I’m really hoping that with the introduction of PS TV in North America, they change the OS to allow for multiple accounts to be used on one card. Really screws me over as I have a PS+ main account, and then my own personal account. I can play the PS3/4 PS+ titles across all accounts on the PS3/PS4 hardware, but not on the Vita. Really limits its use for me.

there's a few sites out there that show how, but i think it renders you unable to go on PSN, similar to ps3 hacks. i haven't tried as i like PSN access.

to follow up on my previous post i bought SAO:HF when it was on sale. after an hour or so i really didn't enjoy the way it played i found it not easy to learn to fight properly and combo. maybe i'm getting old.

adventures of mana - remake of final fantasy adventures from the game boy classic is out on vita. thinking when i get bored i will give it a try as it was my all time fav gameboy game growing up.

amazon still carries vita titles online, the others are very limited. i was at eb games at metro a couple of months ago and asked about vita...he grabs me a photocopy print out of the list of games they have. i'm like why don't you put them on display? he's like look around, no real estate :lol i swear the store changed so much half of the store is like merch but i guess they're catering to the current gamer crowd these days.

vita is still popular in jpn hence most games are of the japanese niche variety eg jrpg's
only fire sales i've seen are on US sites which doesn't help due to cdn $

wish they drop the prices on the memory cards though...or someone come out with an alternative memory card :whistle:
