BEWARE my car just got broken into but all the windows were intact so I don't know how he got in be luckily when he open my door my compustar went off. But he was able to go through my car before I could get to it and he left. Police have been notified and are in the area but haven't caught the perp yet. He's of medium to heavy build glasses was wearing a green or gray heavy jacket and had a backpack. So watch your cars, bad way for me to start off a year.

update: checked my car over it looks like he shoved a slimjim into my passenger door window because the trim there is pulled back and broken.

I use to live by Vic n 49th. I had 2 SiRs stolen, accord and a Datsun 200sx stolen there. I want to just chop these car these hands so they can't steal anymore. Even if you get your car back it never feels the same again...

Chances are you didn't lock your car.
I don't really see how these guys can get into your car any other way?

If they have the capabilities to pick a lock, i'm sure they would have the insight not to jack up a car with compustar system. Those systems are pretty easy to spot.

Somewhat related, but happened in Richmond last night. I was parked across Richmond Public Market to have dinner. When I got back to my car, the car next to me had his passenger window smashed. I quickly inspected my car and was lucky that my car was not broken into. I noticed he had a gps navi holder on his windshield, which may have caused thieves to break in to steal it. To be honest, this exact same thing happened to my dad's car near the same area too.

So as a friendly reminder when parking in Richmond at night, do not leave valuables in sight, not even a empty GPS holder because thieves will assume your GPS in the car and cause you unnecessary trouble.

I'm near the OP's area too, and someone tripped my Compustar alarm last evening. Ran outside and saw the mofo a few blocks away. Long time ago, my first car was stolen and crashed into a curb 30 feet away, decided then that any future car I own whether a beater or a prize is gonna have a two-way paging alarm.

Living quite close to the OP as well. I'm cautious as well when parking outside of the house since sometimes I see ppl around that look suspcious that I normally don't see.

Will keep an eye out for suspicious looking ppl and report to the police in the area. Pisses me off when I hear ppl's car broken into because of some shithead wanting to jack ppl's stuff.

lol thats a lot of people in that area.. did everyone go DT as well?

i have to agree that there's been many more shady looking kids lately. one time near halloween some kids stared me down in my alley while i was trying to park my car into my garage :rukidding: if it wasn't for the fact that it was halloween and the popo were busy, i'd call the cops on them right away.

and all these shady people happen to be first nations.
