Driver abstract: How many points if too much?

Need some honest answer here. A lot of jobs that im applying that requires copy of my driving history. I have total of 9 points in the last few years, I've learned my lesson and a safe driver now.

Here is my history,

22 apr 2008 speeding against highway sign 3pt
18 sep 2008 speeding in/outside municipality 3pt
07 mar 2009 speeding in/outside municipality 3pt

received a warning letter on apr 2009

So how many points is consider too much? If anybody is working for HR please let me know

Are you going to be driving on the job? The last ticket is almost 3 years ago you can tell them you've changed if it becomes an issue?

^ well, i think there are jobs out there that im interested requires me to drive. Otherwise they will not be asking for driving abstract.

i will tell them ive changed if i get a interview but i havent received any calls from the companies yet and wondering if this is the issue.

Just trying to sort out the reason of no call. Wonder if its my resume, cover letter or is it really my driving records.

That's really going to depend on the job and individual company policy. If you're going to be driving a company vehicle, ANY points may be too much. Or if it's a position that requires driving, they may not want to bother going through the paperwork if there's a chance you could get suspended and become instantly useless.

It's really a question you'd have to ask a specific HR person or interviewer.

They might - may be standard policy for some companies to request the abstract. I would guess that's rare for non-driving jobs, but it may still be the case.

It's easy to say you've changed... you might want to point out the timing of the warning letter and note that that scared some sense into you.

Call them and ask them. One job my son applied for, it was four months before he got a call (mainly because there was a change in circumstances at the company that put a hold on hiring for a while).

I had to send my drivers abstract in to my company and I'm in the office almost all the time. They just needed it in case I drive there vehicle so they can add me on there insurance. It depends what the job is, if you're driving there vehicle everyday they may or may not be a bit more cautious.

it all depends on whos hiring you, i had to get a drivers abstract for my job and im not proud of whats on there. But they didnt even care about anything that was on there, they only said it was mandatory. Honestly i think the majority of companies are just looking to see that you dont have a bunch of crashes there.
