Just bought a 91 180sx about a month ago, transmission is rough. doesnt want to downshift from 3-2 or 2-1 even with revmatching unless im going like 15km/h or slower. have to shift like im driving a semi from 1-2 and 4-5 is getting a bit rough... sooo yeah, basically all the synchros are toasty.. got a quote from monkeynutz for 900 for a rebuild.. but i have a feeling it would be more because the tranny is like REALLY rough. found a guy through an aquantance that is selling an sr tranny for 500, says its good with less than 100,000 kms, but i dont personally know the guy, so kind of sketchy about it. anyone know any reputable vendors?? :alone:

have you checked the oil level in the trans.

Yeah, the oil seems fine, the car has 160k and used to be drift car. The tranny has been bagged hard . Pretty sure its the synchros. Can feel the shifter relatively loose/looser than it should be.

I have a SR tranny guts in a KA bellhousing for sale....you can swap the guts into your SR bellhousing.

third gear grinds a bit though, which is why i took it out of my car.
