my friend is getting this icon showing up for all of her docx files.. any clues?

she did run a virus scan, which turned up nothing..

Is this replacing the usual icon? Does double-clicking the files cause them to open with Word?

Right-click the file
Click Open With...
click Choose Default program.
Word should be highlighted. If it's not, click on Word, then enable the checkbox: Always use the selected program...

Yes, it replaces the normal paper with a W icon. They open in Word, she already figured out how to change the icons back to normal.. just wondering if anyone knew what icon it was, or if there was a root cause I should be more worried about..
