well, with the game "Draw Something" getting pretty popular, i decided to make a thread for people to show their drawings! it may be funny or artistic, whatever.

for those who don't know this game, it's available for itouches/iphones and i believe androids as well. there's a free version, but the full app is only $0.99 i believe.

gameplan is simple, you draw a picture and your friend has to guess it. if guessed right, you both earn points! really simple, yet fun.

you need a capacitive stylus, since 99% of touchscreens are capacitive now.

If you're cheap, maybe you can use a metal screw and hope that it can conduct your body's capacitance. =P

Take a bic pen or other hollow tube.
Jam a small piece of sponge in the tip.
Take a paperclip and wrap it around the sponge so it coils up the outside of the tube/pen tightly.
Wet the sponge wit a drop of water.
Place your finger on the coiled paperclip.
Draw away.

There are talks about Zynga buying Draw Something. I am not sure how I feel about this. Seems like all Zynga been doing is buy on success or if they don't get it, they will come up with their 'own version' of the game. It sucks they can't come up with their own material lately.

Looks like OMGPOP, the company behind the overnight sensation “Draw Something” will end up at Zynga, after all. The gamemaker had been talking to several suitors over the last few weeks. But as TechCrunch reported earlier, it has been in serious discussions with Mark Pincus and company for the past few days.

Now Zynga has scheduled a call for a “news announcement” for 3 pm eastern. I’m going to go out on a short limb and assume it’s to formally acknowledge that they have bought the company.

My sources tell me the purchase price will be in the neighborhood of $200 million, perhaps a bit higher. The company had raised around $16 million over the past five years.

No comment from Zynga. I haven’t heard back from OMGPOP CEO Dan Porter.

Zynga will get a New York-based team of about 40 people, and a series of games that OMGPOP has produced over the past few years. But the obvious target here is Draw Something, a sort-of social Pictionary game played on iPhones and Android handsets.

The game is astonishingly popular, and the iPhone app sits atop iTunes “top paid” and “top free” lists, which is very unusual. Even more unusual: It is also the top grossing app at iTunes, based in large part on in-app purchases players make. People familiar with the company tell me it has [U]recently been netting around $250,000 a day from the game — that’s after Apple takes its 30 percent cut.

Zynga is a Facebook games powerhouse, and has been steadily acquiring smaller companies with hits on their hands. Two years ago they paid $53 million in cash and stock for Newtoy, the company behind “Words with Friends.” OMGPOP has played with Facebook games itself, but while Draw Something is Facebook’s “most popular” game, it’s not really a Facebook game at all. Intead, users login with their Facebook credentials, but play the game on standalone apps.

Zynga already changed the name to "DrawSome" lol...they updated already and it's a lot more smooth i must say. They're also planning to add a chatroom too

lol, i'm bored of the game now. I check once a day now, or not even.

And 99 is the max you can get, so now that I've maxed with that friend, feels like there's nothing left to do.
And collecting coins seem pointless, since I can't do anything with them.
I already have all the different colours, and buying shades of one colour seem pointless since I don't plan on drawing a masterpiece.

My friends are guessing the picture before I'm even 1/4 done when I'm trying to do a masterpiece. What a waste. :okay:

NO, i play it on my friends' iphone all the time before. But the same words come up all the time, so there's nothing interesting to draw. And occasionally I get those random "word" drawings...


I tried logging onto with it on my ipad, but my friend logged on with her account when she downloaded it. Now I can switch account even I delete the app and re-install it. Anyone know how to fix the problem?

this is how i feel about DrawSomething. To those that think 200mil from Zynga is too little, they can suck it. This app has a short lifecycle, It isn't going to become the next "Angry Birds" without much needed support. Timely updates and such are needed. Those saying that OMGPOP could have sold for upwards of 800mil should reconsider.

I downloaded Draw Something right after buying my new iPad about a week and a half ago.
I was obsessed.
After connecting to Facebook, I was surprised to see dozens of my friends were already using it. I guess that made me a late adopter.
So I challenged a bunch of them. At my peak, I was playing at least 10 different Draw Something games simultaneously. It wasn't long before my iPad's notifications center was dominated with Draw Something nudges. I'd get a new one every few minutes, it seemed.
It was a ton of fun for awhile. With some of my more active Draw Something friends, I was able to plow through 50+ turns in just a few days. The coins were rolling in!
Then, suddenly, the bubble burst.
Keeping up with my Draw Something notifications started to feel more like a chore than the fun, addictive game it was just a few days before. It felt more like I was being nagged than encouraged to play. It lost its luster.
Plus, let's be honest. There's not much depth to Draw Something. After awhile you start to see the same words over and over again.
It got to the point where I simply stopped playing. But still, the nudges and notifications from friends rolled in, asking why I hadn't taken my turn yet.
Last night, I gave up and deleted Draw Something from my iPad for good.
I know I'm in the minority here. Even though I grew bored of Draw Something, millions more are catching on. (About 14.6 million so far, according to AppData.)
I'm not saying Draw Something is a dud. It isn't. But for people like me who prefer a bit more substance to a game than endless doodling back and forth with no winner, Draw Something is going to get old very soon.

I don't see anything wrong with this... It's not really about the turns, but because it's fun to look at other people's drawings and help guess the word. Instead of posting on Facebook, some people text their friends for the answer as well, which is also fine in my opinion.
