I didn't know it was free. Went there at 5:05pm and they said that they are closed. Saw a Yaris with orange wheels.

They have a bunch of little japanese kids washing who can't speak or understand english. The owner or manager is japanese but can speak a little english. It's right across from Felicos greek restaurant.

First one in line right now. LBs and LGs working at this place while the Japanese owner/manager overlooks everything. Seems like the free car wash is a test run for everyone.

My only pet peeve is that they keep on knocking their hose on my car. Won't complain more since it's free.

About 4 cars that I see in the line up right now.

One of the guys there saw my RS sticker and asked if I am a member. I'd say he was the most "careful" out of all.

It's free - can't complain because I was too lazy to wash and vaccum it myself. 7/10 exterior and 9/10 interior.

pretty decent job. took their time.


most of the staff were pretty polite.

sponge wash, cleaned wheels, rinsed underbody and had windows cleaned in and out.

all and all, pretty decent job.

would rate at about a 7.5 to 8.

one of the guys that worked there asked if i was from RS.. and i said yes. took care of the car the whole time and washed as i instructed (dont spray water directly to my Z's rubber seals.) talked to him about eventual RS members pricing... see if we could get our washes done for cheaper, or at a group rate (say 10 cars show up to do a wash meet)

worth the 15min wait.. :fuckyea:

I would rate the exterior 7 out of 10. Some tight spots (just before the underside of the trunk) were not cleaned well. My rims were also still dirty (read below for more). There was a bit of soap they missed, but everyone makes mistakes, so all was good. As for the interior, the windows were wiped decently and the dash still had dust on it. For the vacuuming job, I cannot say much as my car is only two months old and I vacuum regularly.

The white guy who did my wheels was not great. He was using a bristle brush with a short handle. He couldn't handle my stock SI rims. I did not say anything. When the car was being dried, the manager noticed my dirty rims and was outraged (almost none of the gunk was cleaned in between; it looked smudged all over). I pretended not to notice so he wouldn't have to apologize.

Because of the manager's doing, I would come back to this place again. It is $25 for what was offered for free today.

Honestly, I would go there for the interior and vaccum service, around $15 would be reasonable for what they did interior-wise. They did a pretty good job, even wipe down my door jambs (although I don't think it's a good choice to use the same towel to wipe dust off my dash and my windshield...)

I would stay away from any exterior work. Wouldn't want those brush on my summer wheels or those drying towels scrape against the paint.

Owner was good, LG wearing the pink waterboots and RS guy did the most work. He even wiped down my mud flaps!

The long hair white guy seems like he doesn't know what he is doing and keep on knocking the damn hose against my front bumper.

not bad at all. can't say if they introduce swirls, but their process is good (ie: sponges get cleaned with every vehicle... different sponge for each panel)

Good overall, I'll probably return.
It's a free wash - If i had a fiver on me I would have tipped. But all I had were coins and a 20

Mine wasn't. It was only smacked out and vacuumed. I didn't notice the cars infront of mine's being washed either.

My car seems to be a lot dirtier the day after a wash versus when I wash it myself. Maybe it was their equipment, but there was a hell of a lot of streak marks.

I've been meaning to join RS quite awhile ago, as I've been lurking the forums for almost a year now, never got around to doing so until now ^^. I guess I might as well do a brief intro about myself here. I'm an active member of Element Owner's Club and Sportscarforums under the username Kaoss. Currently traveling from White Rock to work almost on a daily basis. As an automotive enthusiast I love being able to come into contact with so many different vehicles and chat with other enthusiasts who drop by. It's really a great experience.

Being somewhat of a perfectionist myself, I'm more suited for working at an auto detailing location instead of a car wash, although Sensha-ya will be providing detailing in the future, ETA unknown. I'd be happy to answer any of your questions regarding Sensha-ya, as I'm essentially the unofficial Sensha-ya RS spokesperson in this thread lol.

What kinda of wash mitt you guys use?
Ive been to a car wash that uses crappy wash mitt and it scratched my car or left tons of swirls...

Do you guys change water frequently?
the place I went to changed it once.. I was them just add water and more soap.. the big bin of soapy water was full of dirt.... nasty....

We use sponges.

We change water once it becomes dirty, which is about every hour or so. The dirt and murky water is drained and new water and soap mixture is put in.

I dropped by for a wash yesterday morning but unfortunately was greeted with a new staff member that was being trained on how to wash a car by the boss. The new guy washed over half my car with the same initial soap and sponge without dipping the sponge into water to get more moisture. I had to ask him twice to get more water into the sponge. Pushing sudds around with a dirty sponge wasn't my idea of washing my black car. By the time he made it down one side of the car, the sponge was dry. He just kept flipping the sponge over and over again. Unfortunately for me, I now have swirls and scratches on my car.
Also, as much as I enjoyed seeing a cute Japanese girl wiping my car down, using a regular almost dry cloth trying to rub out road tar and sap wasn't how I wanted my car treated.
I told the boss about it when he invites me in to pay. But he wasn't too interested in hearing what I said.
Next time, I wor reconsider coming to this car wash. I do admit though, everyone was courteous, but just inexperienced.

^ which is precisely why i wouldn't bring my EK to a new car wash (no offense to akinari-kun). inexperienced car washers should really take extra training before touching dark coloured cars; especially black ones. the enticement of a 1/2 price deal is not worth having swirled paint!

with that said, i wouldn't mind coming by today with my EF if the line's not too long :thumbsup:

Also, as much as I enjoyed seeing a cute Japanese girl wiping my car down, using a regular almost dry cloth trying to rub out road tar and sap wasn't how I wanted my car treated.
I told the boss about it when he invites me in to pay. But he wasn't too interested in hearing what I said.
Next time, I wor reconsider coming to this car wash. I do admit though, everyone was courteous, but just inexperienced.

You guys dont like to use Microfiber mitt? they wash out easier then a sponge...
you should have 2 seperate containers.. one for soap and another for dipping the dirty sponge into to get most of the dirt out before it goes into the nice soapy water, this way you can save on soap and dont have to refill it as often..

Don't worry, criticize as much as you'd like, I'm just someone working at a car wash. It's not like I run/own the place, won't feel offended as long as I know I'm doing the right things. With that being said, even if I do disagree on how to wash in a specific way, I still gotta follow the regulations set by the manager.

I myself would never want someone else wash or even touch my car, so if anyone is picky about swirls or scratches, take it to a detailing place instead, since it's pretty much guaranteed that your exterior will have some swirls afterwards.

However if any of you wanna bring your own wash utensils and have me wash your babies, I wouldn't mind doing so :troll:

QFT. Honestly, this is just another one of your Richmond hand wash places. If you go here, you will have minor scratches. This is not a detailing shop. This is a mass hand wash shop. They want quantity. Not quality.
