2012/13 Grad School Applicants

I am applying to grad school for the 2012/13 term and I've been very anxious for the past few months since I submitted my application. I've also been googling for forums with people who applied to the same field in to see if anyone got their admittance or rejection letters yet and I've so far only found one that is more focused on American schools.

I'm sure there are at least a few people on this forum in the same boat looking for some kind of sign that the letters are coming out.

So lets be anxious together!

I've applied to the following schools for the Masters of Architecture program:
UBC
U of Calgary
Carleton
U of Toronto
U of HK

So far no letters yet but they should be coming out soon.

Who else is waiting??

My wait is over but I know how it feels to be uncertain about your application. Just tough it out knowing that you did your best to meet the requirements. It also helps that you applied widely. When you eventually get accepted you'll be so, so happy.

Good luck!

Sorry to digress but I have a quick question.

I plan to apply next year and will probably have to apply to multiple schools at once, since I am not confident in predicting which schools I would be accepted.
Are prof's usually okay with writing you multiple copies of reference letter? For example, some schools requires a letter while others require electronic surveys. Did you ask the same prof's to write you multiple reference letters to all the schools you applied to?

ah the anticipation, no use in worrying about it everyday.

I was in the same situation two years ago and remember not being able to sleep because I was so anxious. Like Energy said, just remember you gave it your all and that's enough to keep your head up.

I made the mistake of only applying to three schools (got into utoronto) but I should of definitely looked at more options!

When that letter arrived, I felt like I couldn't breath. My chest felt so tight and I felt high enough to pass out.

Goodluck with your future aspirations!

Haha thanks for the support during this very uncertain time for me. I was just talking to an old friend today who said he applied to 13 SCHOOLS. I couldn't believe it but he said in his field it is standard to apply to at least 10.

@GGnoRE the profs I approached were very understanding about multiple letters. To them, I think they write one letter and send the same one to the other schools I applied for. Also, most profs understand that you will want to apply to more than one school since I haven't heard of people applying to only one school (I guess if they are super confident). Just make sure you take all the necessary steps to make their life easier. I went to visit each prof at least 4 times before everything was finished.

There was one problem during one of the electronic references. The older prof I had as a reference didn't want to bother with using a computer so he just sent a hard copy in. Make sure to let the school know they have opted to do that instead.
