Lol I think he would have better luck running it over with a car than slowly smashing it.

BB is a decent phone if you want a cheap way to have a smartphone. I had the Bold 9000 and it was pretty tanky like a Nokia, but it also had a lot of technicality problems like the trackball even though mine didn't break after a year. I have a Iphone 4 now, but the BB has served me pretty well. Plus I can drive and text easier than the iPhone back then :)

Can't even smash a phone right. Whatever he was hammering the phone on was padding his impacts :P

don't kno whats with all this hate on blackberry... i had a curve a while back and it was great! did its job flawlessly, no lag, typed super quick, easy to get chicks BBMs, great e-mail app, it didn't have a ton of games on it... but to be honest, even now with my android i dont spend that much time gaming on it... would gladly trade in the ability to game for a qwerty keyboard again

jus sayin'... new QNX BB10's have my attention

say goodbye to your hopes of BB10. The CEO doesnt believe in the company, and cant gaurantee success. RIM is falling apart, more and more people are quiting.

I have a feeling tat BB10 will not be coming out.

I remember my first BB, the 8300 Curve. It was reliable. It had a keyboard. It made texting easy. Its reception was excellent.

if only the OS was similar to the android.... it would make it in todays market. Now it is too little too late. I had a torch and it was downright a downgrade lol (other than bbm) disappointing. Upgraded to the Iphone4S and i really miss my keyboard :alone:

Jim Balsillie Resigns from RIM Board of Directors After Dismal Earnings Report
CFRA News Staff
Thursday, March 29, 2012

Former Research in Motion Co-CEO Jim Balsillie has resigned as RIM posts its fourth quarter and year end results. The Blackberry maker lost US$125-million in the quarter, down from a profit of $934-million a year ago. The company asked for trading of its stock to be frozen both on the TSX and NASDAQ ahead of the release of its earnings report. According to the Globe and Mail, RIM also laid off several sales and marketing executives today.

Sorry Blackberry and RIM. Your time has come. People are moving on to the next generation of phones.

Remember RIM was once the market leader...they failed and let apple eat away at them.

Their next phone better be AMAZING. If they're able to add a sliding keyboard on a touchscreen...as thin as their competitors and run flawlessly software...then sweet jesus they'll be back in it. Easier said than done I know... but if they dont change with the times and re-invent themselves...they''ll go bankrupt and be bought up.

If mircosoft didnt save apple, they would already be over.

03-29-2012, 08:23 PM
They need to figure how to extend battery life and create software that doesn't constantly freeze or lag.
I've been using BBs since way back and they still haven't fixed this issue.
Gonna be trading in my 9900 for the next iPhone in the fall!

My Blackberry (personal) may be slow, freezes often, but it has been quite good to me. It's a tank, I throw it around, I've dropped it a million times - yet the call quality and reception is amazing.

There would be times when my Blackberry has full reception, and my iPhone kept on dropping calls, even though they're on the same network.

My iPhone 4 (work) on the other hand, has been exchanged twice at the iPhone store. One of the phones - the other person can't hear me talk, the other phone - it stopped recognizing my sim. If I didn't live close'ish to an Apple Store, I would've killed someone if I had to warranty the phone with my carrier.

My relationship with my Blackberry is bitter sweet, but it's been good to me. That said, if RIM doesn't come out with a better phone, I'll probably end up getting an Android some time this year.

It's tough when your unique selling point of BBM has been easily adapted by other smart phones and applications, e.g. imessage, whatsapp, etc.

There is NOTHING special about BBM anymore other than people saying they have "BBM." Whatsapp does exactly the same thing, on a better OS.

Honestly, I've had so many issues with Whatsapp that I stop using it to initiate a conversation. I can't count the number of times where I'd be having a conversation with someone, and then they stop messaging me, and then I get the messages they sent the next day (with the time stamp from the day before).

If there's an important message, I always email or text now.

I don't get the appeal of Blackberries. They're barely smartphones.

Were you using a Blackberry? Because my friends and I chat with Whatsapp all the time on our iPhones and Androids.

No, it doesn't.

And no, Swype is not a viable alternative to a full QWERTY keyboard.

Whatsapp, Swype.. they're not even comparable. I carry both an Android and a Blackberry and use all of these things you mentioned on a daily basis.

I keep flip flopping between my android and my berry.

Keyboard is awesome, having most of the abilities of my computer is also awesome. Can't decide between the two.

And yeah, watsapp on the berry definitely sucks. Constantly lagging out whereas when I'm on the 'droid talking to iphone/droid users its instantaneous.

All this X phone sucks and Y phone is awesome is really silly. At the end of the day it comes down to what phone suits your needs better, everyone has different needs and importance of features available on a phone.

If you use your cell mostly for responding to messages (emails/text/IM), encryption or are more comfortable on a physical keyboard then Berrys are awesome and better than Droid/Iphones. If you use your cell for heavy web surfing, apps, games and like touch screens, then Droid/Iphones are awesome better than Berrys.

It seems these days, if you want to start an argument, just bring up cell phones instead of politics or religion.

Completely disagree...I don't find a berry to be better at all for texting and e-mailing...
