I live right behind the place. It's a small cozy family owned sushi joint and they have the biggest sashimi I've ever seen. Delicious food and they even give you free food on the house lol. Sorry if repost, but for those of you who have never been...I highly recommend it.
Location is 9175 148 St right next to Green Timbers pub

I've been living 5 minutes away from this place for almost 12 years and I just discovered it a few months ago. Best sushi place in Surrey by far. Here's a blog from Shermansfoodadventures.

After reading this thread I went today. I got the dinner combo for $12, and felt the tempura was okay, but Sushi and sashimi was good though. Would go back again if near surrey.

Sashimi so big that it takes more than 1 bite to eat it disgusting ... might as well chomp into an entire salmon ...
In Surrey, Hanako Sushi is one of the best sushi places I've been to, the Toro... :sweetjesus:

Don't ask tell works better....
Well I just got back and had a to go order and I'm beyond impressed. I placed my order and sat down and the girl was nice enough to bring me a complementary Miso soup. I know it's not much money but you don't see that often these days. Well I finish the soup and she brings my complementary Salmon teriyaki which I have never even heard of before especially for a togo order.
I noticed they had a 8 piece Tuna or Salmon Nigiri special for $9.50 so I had to get that and I'm even more impressed with the size and quality of the tuna (crappy pic)

I as well got my normal Unagi $4.25 and Spicy tuna roll $3.50

Overall the rolls and quality and especially the price is great for a little hole in the wall joint you would never expect. I will post a pic of the togo menus shortly I want to finish this food nom nom nom

The quality of the food is better then the pics I took with my crappy phone. But for a whole in the wall joint in Surrey it's not bad. If you want quality in the area go to Akasaka or even better Tokachi

Went there with a friend yesterday. Placed was packed and the wait was 30 min at around dinner time 6pm?
The place is run by a korean family. Though there is a viet girl working there also a brown girl in the back.
My friend and I ordered the salmon tempura set for exactly $9.50 each. That day they've never been that busy before and they had run out of rice so lots of people waited 30 min. My friend and I waited an hour to get our food but we knew the workers there so we didn't mind. Also because the korean lady gave us free sample small dishes and miso soup to try out while we waited.
Holy shit I'm blown away by the portions. I couldn't finish half of it and i had to take it to go and it still took up 2 takeout boxes. THe quality is pretty good as well, nothing that stands out but rather go here than those typical AYCE resturants.

I'll pop in there now and then when I'm doin laundry and I like it. The dragon roll is pretty good and the chef and workers are always super friendly. When I'm there they usually give me a little something extra as an appy.

This place looks like they cut enormous pieces of sashimi...and it doesn't look very good.
I hear good things about Tokachi. I can't convince myself to...Surrey...though.

THIS. The spicy salmon sashimi dish is too damn good.
Honestly, i dont care if the sashimi is farmed or whatever...tastes the same to me and i get more protein. U mad?
Try their deep fried Salmon, Avocado, Cream cheese roll :)

believe it or not, some people actually like dining bang for the buck
spending $50 to fill up on high quality sushi is much less satisfying than spending $15 on medium grade sushi to get just as filled
just sayin'

Bought 2 party trays for a little gathering the other day. Was shocked when we picked it up. 3 huge trays and a small box for the 6 nigiri. Holy mother ****! Found it to be nothing that special, but it wasn't crappy either; just your typical sushi joint if you wanted a quick fix. Will probably be back since I live so close...RS meat? :fullofwin:
