I'm looking to do more interviewing more than anything else.

I was thinking of a wireless mic system and it seems like decent ones start at $600. So I picked this one: Sennheiser EW112-p G3 Camera Mount Wireless Microphone System with ME2 Lavalier Mic (A / 516 - 558 MHz) Sennheiser EW112-p G3 Camera Mount Wireless EW112PG3-A B&H Photo (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/618739-REG/Sennheiser_EW112PG3_A_EW112_p_G3_Camera_Mount.html ) but I want to know what any of your professional experience is with microphones?

Do I just need a simple hotshot mounted mic that zooms and zeros in on a speaker that is at most 10 feet away. I really want to have clean sound from their voice and hardly any outside background noise if I'm in an environment with high ambient noise.

Where can I get this equipment in Vancouver, preferably in the Surrey/Langley area?

Thanks a lot I gave them each a call! :) Noone has anything in stock locally for my trip to Detroit, Michigan. I'll have to out source this somehow!

I have stock, but we aren't open until Tuesday. How long are you going for? You can rent it too. Try Photo Expert?

I just decided to jump and purchase a kit tomorrow that has everything in it for $40 more than B&H including a Zoom H1 mic/recorder! :) I'll ship it to my hotel in Detroit for this Monday. Got some stuff with Chrysler and Fiat to do and it was crucial to have this equipment at any cost. My only decision is which band I should go with that'll mainly be used in Vancouver. Band A, B, or G? Since you sell them maybe you have experience in what customers use?

Hmmm...sorry, I have no idea what they would use. Whoah...$629 @ B&H??? Gouging a bit, aren't they?

If you can find a way for me to get one before Sunday evening at a great price I'd get it from you. But so far I found a better deal on amazon.com for that wireless set, a tascam dr05 field recorder, headphones, mini tripod, and a pelican case for $639 + free shipping which is far better than just the wireless unit for $10 less.

That's what I was thinking when I saw it. It'll be nice that everything can fit into a quality case right from the get go. I better make room in my luggage for all the goodies and a new camera I'm shipping to the hotel!
