: Where is the best pizza in Vancouver?

BMW-R21

I love pizza but Panago has gone a bit downhill for me... where do folks recommend for having the best pizza?

I recently tried Steveston Pizza Co, which actually is not just in Steveston. They have a location on Cambie and one in Surrey. Tried it out after seeing it here (http://moeji.com/business/steveston-pizza-co/38/) and I loved the pizza!!! There's a pizza with snow crab and shrimp which I loved. And one with prosciutto... soooo good.

Any other suggestions???

maybe its just me but i think uncle fatihs on broadway/commercial has gone real downhill over the years :heckno:

4brothers pizza on commercial drive for late night and take out

1417 Commercial Drive - the original location is the best.. stay away from the 2nd location

Fire pizza is preety good too for takeout.. 1918 Commercial Drive (ignore the 4brothers next door to em lol)

brados pizza makes a killer poutine pizza as well also on the drive - 1399 Commercial Drive

i just recently tried VERACE PIZZERIA using a vaneat deal and i thought it was preety good...

Interesting. I've heard such mixed reviews on Flying Wedge... have others tried it? Thoughts? Recommendations on which pizza is good?

That said, Supreme Pizza on Victoria & 49th, the BEST pizza in town, and great price for what u get. Small hole in the wall pizza joint that looks like, well a hole in the friggin wall. Hasn't changed since 1983. No website, no twitter or FB, heck you can't even find a menu online. I've talked to "uncle" a few times about letting me throw something up for him, but he doesn't care. They crazy busy.

Fire Pizza is about a buck more than the 4 Brother's next door, especially when you are doing 2 slices + pop.

Marchello / Lombardo's (both around the 1st / Commercial area) are sit down and I don't think they do by the slices. They are thin crust more inline with "traditional" Italian pizza.. I prefer the pizza at Lombardo's but the Lasagna and ambience Marchello wins.

Friday 11am - 12am

Sunday 12pm - 11pm

They do take out as well but I think eating in is much better. The quality doesn't seem the same for some odd reason, maybe the Chef who cooked my meal wasn't into it the day my food wasn't as top notch as it normally is.

Not super amazing or jaw dropping, but my local favourites are:

Ragazzi Pizza - No nonsense here. Humble Neapolitan style pizza. Not full service, but a dine-in option is available. They service mostly the neighbourhood with take-out and delivery in the Renfrew Heights area.

Via Tevere - Apparently owned by the same owner as Ragazzi Pizza, but this is on Victoria Drive. A full service dine-in restaurant with bar and other Italian classic items on the menu. Be prepared for a wait. There is a heated waiting area outside. Street parking (residential.)

Both aren't in the downtown core if that means anything to you. Some may argue that there are better pizzerias but for me, it's personal preference.

Famoso is decent, not in the realm of "the best" IMO but I like it. Its 400billion steps above marcellos though. For my wedding I did all the cold food appetizers myself and ordered 40 pizzas from famoso. The guests loved it and it was about 1/4th of the price of mediocre catering options.
Heres a good spot to look for some pizza options. Scout is pretty in tune with the good stuff in the restaurant industry IMO.

Tried fire pizza last night. I got the honey garlic pork and capricolla. Honey garlic was too sweet and capricolla didn't have any meat on it until 5 bites in. I also couldn't help but feel that the pizzas were pretty old. The presentation is very nice though and I like how generous they are with toppings. Gotta go back a few more times to see if I like it better than Uncle Fatihs or not
