recently been having very good viet iced coffee's at a few different pho places i frequent and was wondering how easy it is to make at home
where can i buy the cup/press for the grounds, and are the grounds simply coffee or is it something different?
also it just drips into condensed milk correct?

It's really easy, you just need to buy the dripper at any asian home store (I got mine at Parker) and make sure you use French Roast grinds. Play around with the amounts until you get it right. Eventually, it will be better than you get at the restaurants. :sweetjesus:
Since moving to HK, I have to do it at home since nobody in HK is willing to make it properly.

Oh I wrote a guide on it a long time ago..
How to make Vietnamese Ice Coffee (http://www.k-rad.ca/how-to-make-vietnamese-ice-coffee/)
I don't run my blog anymore, and since letting the domain expire, someone scraped the site, but they didn't save the images.
I mixed the condensed milk in water...
Than let the cofffeee drip into it. Dont forget to slowly put water into the coffee! Than keep adobg water gradually until it flows!
Love thiscoffeee oh man.
Just came back from Vietnam. Vietnamese coffee everyday.

These! I use these exact same products. Try the store across from kingsgate mall/beside Thai Son. Get the Cafe Du Monde tin.
Save this pic on your phone or something and tell em you need these. haha

If you are going to make Vietnamese coffee at least use Trung Nguyen brand if it is available in Van.

the coffee needs to be roasted with chicory. It's actually pretty important.

I've had Trung Nguyen and it doesn't even compare to Cafe du Monde

IMO Cafe du Monde sucks
you can pretty much use any bean but don't get them grounded to fine.
Try different beans to your liking.

What?
The fundamentals of Vietnamese coffee are the blend of spices and the dark French roast. You can't "just use any bean."

I drink this all the time at home. Go chong lee get the press for only 5 bux, can also get a box of trung nguyen there for 5 bux. They sell cafe du monde too but I prefer trung. I drip it over longevity condensed milk. Prefer abt 15 min drip time for optimal taste then poured over a glass of ice. If you really pack it and twist tight can drip for like 45 mins+ but taste like crap.

I have never tried Cafe Du Monde however if your asking about making AUTHENTIC VIETNAMESE Style Coffee then I am more inclined to use a brand or type that is used through out Vietnam.
