Well, checked out this board today, thought it looked interesting, started reading through the threads, particularly the "race locations"..... I have to say, I haven't laughed that hard in a while.
These people, all 10 members that show up to meets, post about all the street races they engage in, in various cities in the lower mainland. (A bunch of them have the same color underglow...lol)
Not only that, but as you can read in the link below, they compare themselves to Need for Speed. LOL.
Even a 71 Pinto joined the club and posted his car picture...Oh, and the Cavaliers!! I'm telling you, this is where are the cool people are.
They even have business cards they hand out!!! *holds face in shock*
You seriously need to take a good look through this site and have a laugh.
You need to sign up to view anything, but I promise it's worth it!

That was fun.
I'm coming home from the gym last night, goin a little quick through traffic, and some guy gives me one flash with his high beams.
So I slow down, and he speeds up to me (exactly like on NFS LoL) we match speeds, and punch it at exactly the same time.
It was a perfect rolling start, neither of us started earlier than the other.
I just barely beat him, but it was a blast.
At the next set of lights, I decided to do a victory burnout, and got into 3rd gear with it (that was a first for me, usually only power through gears 1 & 2) then at the next lights we talked for a min, he asked if mine was a 4 (I don't know if he meant 4 cylinder, or 2004, but I said yes anyways) then I told him I went though 3 gears in that burnout, cause I was proud of myself, and excited that I got to do that.
I turned off at the next lights, and we said our 4way goodbyes.
Hope he got a chance to see, and remember the site, and he checks us out.
Either way, that was one of the most fun 10 blocks I've had in a LONG time. "

A bunch or racing stories from the site.
Might as well start off the new year with a good burn. Coming back from willowbrook mall down 200 a golf was chasing me down after the light on 64th and 200th so I is up for the light at the top of the hill. Man it was fun ( remember the lights going through coquitlam on the cruise to Stanley park ?) went like that every light till we got to Collosus. I got him 3 of the 5 lights we hit. Man it was a blast. Tried to get him a card but didn't have a good place to stop. I also managed to freak the shit out of some ppl on the sidewalk and the cars behind me let out a big back fire off the light.
Had a good rip from 200th and Hwy10, all the way cat n doggin' it to 148th :D miles and miles of slammin gears.... only slowing down to pass Cloverdale Tim Hortons... Need I say why? ::)
I have been seeing this grey r34 skyline in my area for the last month and been itching for a good race. I found him going the other direction on Fraser hwy so I pulled a huge u- turn caught up with him at the light. It was on. It was a dead even race all the way down fraser hwy rb20 vs rb20. Pulled over and chatted for a bit handed him a card
Driving down to pick the girlfriend up in langley and well had a jetta rip past me so i took as a invite to have fun. as we got to the next light i acted slow and so he could get past me and i ripped past him and he backed off lol. Guess he thought i had a lot more in the car then i did lol
It was a beauty of a day yesterday and i have been working on my tune from the 0 - 5psi boost range, i found myself sitting on Blundell & No. 2 Rd in Richmond with a nice looking Acura teasing me on my left.
Decided to pop clutch and see what he had under the hood once the green dropped, he kept up no problem but only pulled away once i slowed up for traffic...pretty certain he was stock and just up for a little fun. Didn't snap any pics of pull over...buddy kinda ducked out before all that. Maybe he sighted the logo's.
;DBonus, I did not blow a tranny this time...hahahahahaha 8-)
Cruised along hwy 10 in traffic this morning with a Blue Ion
2.4L (I think the LE5 VVT Engine)
Dropped, Rims, intake, exhaust
I think a lip kit, but I'm not sure...
Licence plate behind the bumper gaps like mine and skyrine's
Looked hella clean and nice
Tried to stop beside him and pass an invite, but didn't have a chance to
Hope he saw my VU decals and joins up :)
PS. No Bennji... no pictures :P

To be fair, many of the original RS members used to go to the drags out in Port Kells, among various other locations. However, I think the difference between those members and the ones on VU is that we've matured and grown up enough to realize that 1) It's not worth the risk to possibly lose your car, 2) It puts innocent lives in danger, and, 3) It ruins the fragile truce between the police/general public and those who enjoy modifying the cars.
I remember after F&F came out, I flat out refused to go to Richmond because at that point anyone with a car that looked even slightly modified was immediately targeted by the police.
I'll admit that I know of a few remote locations where I enjoy going for a spirited drive around some foothills or in the mountains, but they're areas that are secluded from the public. It's absolutely stupid to do a rolling drag in the middle of a public road when there are still tons of cars around you. I've seen waaaaay too many close calls (and almost had one of those idiots crash into me a couple months back) to even consider doing it these days.
civiccer

Going out to Mission is fine. No matter who it is and what they're driving. If you have the guts to actually go out and race there, instead of being all talk, or building a fast car for no purpose and having never raced it, then you have my respect.
However, street racing is being cracked down hard upon, and it's definitely not worth the penalties to even think about doing it. Not to mention how dangerous it is, doing 148kph in traffic!
I certainly wouldn't have a forum where everyone is invited to brag about all the times they engage in it, and get others to join in. It's just asking for trouble.
The purpose of starting this site was to promote underground race events, where they close off streets and the police can't do anything. Basically to become F&F. At least that's what I heard one of the members say, whom I met the other day.

Thank you for taking the time to visit
Vancouver Underground(dot)net
--------------------------------------------
The premise of this site is to talk to the people you race.
To congratulate them on a victory, and to talk about your cars.
And to be part of a community of car enthusiasts.
As we grow, more chapters will be added, as well as weekly/annual meets.
When posting info on races, please post in the City where the Race started.
Or the venue where the race was held at.
(Example: Mission Raceway, post in Mission. Ashcroft Raceway, post in Other)
And post in the Race Locations section only.
VU is designed to be a Community of car enthusiasts.
If you are not going to be an active Part of that community, you won't be here long.
Within your first month you MUST make at lease One Post, or Attend One Meet.
After three months you MUST make at least Five Posts, AND have atteneded One Meet.
Anyone who does not meet these requirements will find themselves on the Outside of our walls again.
Lastly, don't post peoples license plates!!
Post by Make/Model/Color/Year.
Anyone who posts someones License plate,
WILL be pertinently banned from this site.

Vancouver Underground does not promote Street Racing.
We are here as Enthusiasts of Legal Races on tracks, or on closed course circuits.
However, if our members choose to Street Race, they do so at their own risk,
and Vancouver Underground will not be held responsible for our members actions.
If you are a "Street Racer", you are welcome to join our community,
but know that our meets and cruises will not be for racing,
or any activities that would interfere with other drivers on the roads.
Members who do race, or attract negative attention from law enforcement,
will be dealt with on a case by case scenario.
Also, knowing that a select minority will not follow the "Rules of the Road"
we ask that you keep it as safe as you can,
and Always Wear your Seatbelt.
Thanks,

I hate it when you people don't scramble to pull out your phone, get it to the camera, and take a picture.
You only take your eyes off the road for max 5 seconds, and hands off the steering wheel for 10 . . .

Re: Revscene is talking about us
I think the contention some Revscenesters have with this board is the open endorsement of potentially dangerous activity.
While it would be impossible and unrealistic to expect that people will not street race, the fact that this board promotes and organizes these races is a scary concept for some.
Most people feel they're "above average" drivers, and I don't doubt their talent, but combine that with a dangerous activity, hyper awareness of surroundings (for getting "busted") and an activity out of their comfort zone (racing) you have a recipe for disaster.
Please note that Revscene is condemning something that is not only illegal but dangerous and potentially very deadly. We're sure that members of VU are great people, but we don't agree with the message this group sends. Those of us driving modified cars are given a bad name by the general public because they all believe we're blocking off roads and smashing into minivans full of orphans.
This community sets us all back. "

Hello RS
Just to add to our discussion... This was posted in response to Grim's postings on our local forum...
"Thank you for actually coming out and posting some intelligent disscussion
We at VU do NOT support Street Racing. We have a disclaimer right on the "Welcome" page stating this fact; If a member chooses to take part in an illegal race, they do so at their own risk, at their own choice, and to their own consequences
I was one of the first to join this forum to support safe racing, be it drag, autocross, drift etc
Personally, I keep my racing to the 1/4 mile drag strip. One of the other Admin on here strickly posts about his experiences, and dates of future events, of autocross.
The "Race Locations" were started to co-incide with where these events happen, and as a place to post where you see other cars on the road, but some members literally post about their experiences competing on the unsecured streets; They do this as their own choice and their own risk.
Many of us are members of other local forums, who also, do not support any illegal racing. We started this group to encourage enjoying and getting the full extent of customized cars via safe, legal racing for all different brands, classes, and manufacturers
I will appriciate any serious support we get from new members, but I will continue to delete all rude, and redundant postings
I welcome any serious members to join us and make our site even better "
... and to sum everything up... We do not condone or support any illegal racing of any kind.

But your administrator Bennji posts his "experiences", setting the tone and example for the board. He also makes comments essentially endorsing this type of behavior.

That was fun!!
2011 Black Cadilac CTS + White 2011 VW Tiguan
The three of us got from Hope, to Abbotsford in 30 min.
Some of that time was behind a cop, doing 100.
And also for part of it there was a White 2000 Eclipse
And a Black 2008+ Ram 3500 Duilie.
I Hope one, some or all of you got to see the decals, and check this out.
It'd be great to meet up with you again.

I always see that License Plate there.
I honestly want to shake the hands of these kids.
All under 21, 12 guys and 1 girl.
Doing speed of OVER 200KPH!!!

This is news I like to read.
And they all get off with a 7 day impound, and a 198 fine.
Sure they have $300 in Points, and $350 in Impound fees, but that is nothing.
My last suspension I paid a $198 Fine, and $280 in Points. For doing 90 in a 50 zone in a Audi A4.

HAHAHA no doubt, eh Vtune?
An afterthought... Do we want to have a Civic Hatchback on the front of our card? Yes its cool looking. Yes it's turbo'd and tuned. Yes Vtune is a great guy, however...
A lot of people may look at the card and write it off as another Civic, Honda, or JDM club
Maybe have an exotic this run of cards? and when we have more members, get a better group shot?
Also another suggestion... Maybe put a slogan on the card too? Such as "Racers Unite"

Regarding Bennji; I can't speak for everyone.
He's an admin, a grown up, and his actions and statements are his own. Both myself, and Last-Ryd are legal "Racers" and do what we can to help point more members to engage in safe activities
I stick by what I said before, that I do not condone illegal racing. The statement above is Vancouver Underground's slogan "Racers Unite"
It is a statement suggesting everyone who likes to enjoy what they do to their cars to come and join our forum, so that we can all benefit by finding places to drag, drift, or autocross, OFF of city streets
I've come on here, asking that the members of RS be mature and not to come and blast the entire site for based against some of our members comments.
I'm sure RS has it's share of people who come on here and make statements about how fast their car can go in the city on aftermarket springs and blown stock struts.
People hopefully will learn from their "mistakes" and comments, and that's what I've joined all my different forums to try and do; Teach others how they can have safe fun with their cars.

Perhaps you should choose your mods and admin more wisely- people who will stand up for what's right/wrong, and represent the forum in a way that promotes these things you speak of.
Clearly this has not been the case.
Having "management" condone/take part of, and misrepresent the club's said motto, gives your club a bad rep from the get go. This is very disappointing to see.

For a forum claiming to not condone the act of street racing, I laugh at the fact that there are specific areas on the site for members to post up their illustrious activities :fuckthatshit:
Topic: Yes me vs grey r34 skyline
I have been seeing this grey r34 skyline in my area for the last month and been itching for a good race. I found him going the other direction on Fraser hwy so I pulled a huge u- turn caught up with him at the light. It was on. It was a dead even race all the way down fraser hwy rb20 vs rb20. Pulled over and chatted for a bit handed him a card
And another by an admin
Got to rip with a yellow CRX up the Bypass.
Fun times.
At the light at Kingsway we went off the line,
I only had 1 car length on him by the time he had to slow down for a car in his lane.
Makes me wonder what he has in there.
I gotta get decals that are more prominent at night.

This is another reason this site was started; To support rather than flame those who think differently. Who are you to say what is cool vs not, for that matter, who is anyone to say someone else's car isn't "Cool"? If the owner likes it, that should be all that matters.
If someone chooses to make their car look better than a stock one, that's an improvement, regardless of who approves, and the same goes for someone who adds an air intake to make their engine perform better. What's it to you?
If you look through this site, it'll be difficult to find someone flaming another member's car on here. Support, and be supported. Opinons are up for discussion; Flaming is not what we are all about, unlike so MANY other "car enthusiasts" sites.
Within 1 night, I come back, and I see 3 different posts, all from RS members "Flaming" our member's cars. THIS is why the need was felt to start another club, NOT to rival, but to start something more "Team"-like
I'm a member of 4 other car enthusiasts sites, 3 of which I'm quite active on. I chose those sites, because they are helpful, not flameful, but the downside, is that they are specialty sites (ie made for one model)... Enter, Vancouver Underground; A truely community site for all types of cars
Grow up, and move on

Just wanted to say, that I am part of VU and I don't condone street racing.
I don't participate in it. I'm part of VU because no one there bashes other peoples
cars for what they do to it. That being cosmetically, sound sytems, lights or engine.
I go to the meets to meet other people who like cars and to talk about them.
None of the meets I have been to have been turned into some sort of "underground
street racing" and if they were, I wouldn't be attending them.
It was also I who put the card on the mitsubishi at the walmart on 88th.
I put it there to see if he had any interest in the club, not for racing,
but because he had a nice car and hoping he'd come out to a meet so I can
know more about it. If keeping it in your car for humour purposes, just throw it
out. If you're offended or whatever because of it, throw it out.
Don't keep it to just laugh at the fact someone thought you had a nice vehicle.
And you can all look on VU and see for yourself that all my posts have been car and
meet related. Not once have I posted or commented on any racing besides auto x
or drag strip. So please don't jump to conclusions that all VU members are made up of ricer street racers.

This is what pisses me off. All of us have given ample evidence for the hypocrisy, making excuses for their behavior, saying they don't condone racing... yet they all OPENLY brag about it.
No one cares what their cars look like, sure everyone has their own taste, and whether we laugh at them or not, that's far from the point.
The point is, that there is a group of people out there, street racing at high speeds, and they think there is nothing wrong with it.
Or, sorry, they do think there's something wrong with it, and don't condone it, but do it anyway.
Wtf.
Yes, I do think these people should be banned from future meets, as these are not the kind of people I want to associate myself with. It's people like these, that will forever ruin the peace we have with the police, as well as whatever respect we have from other people out there on the road. As little as that may be.
The fact that after countless quotings of these people, no one has owned up to their wrong behavior or attitudes. No one will admit they are in the wrong.
And at this point, there is zero trust that anything out of their mouths is the truth. It's scary, and I personally, want to have nothing to do with them.
Dishonesty doesn't do anything for me.
I've set my standards higher than that.

I do want to thank the few RevSceners who actually had some intelligent things to post, and our community is, and will continue to take, the respectful criticism to help improve our site. Any intelligent feedback will be left on our forums, but hate on other peoples cars will be deleted.
This is how we differ from RS, as we do not have a "Hall of Shame" as we will respect any persons car as much as they do. Even if it's a Bone Stock cavalier. Hence the need for an alternate solution to the Car Scene.
I personally LOVE to race, AutoCross in Pitt Meadows, The Mission Strip, Ashcroft Strip, and I admittedly do go fast off the track as well.
With no intention do I promote street racing, as I have lost several friends too early due to stupid mistakes made in a split second. However I have posted my intereactions on the road, for someone who may feel rejected by other clubs for being a street racer, so that if/when they join they can feel a bit of acceptance.
With that said, we DO NOT plan or organise Street Races.
At our planned meets, we do the same as at your Planned meets. Have a cup of coffee, and talk. And usually they will be at a place where there are other activities, Go Karts, Pool Halls, ect. Or have our races at Mission Raceway or Pitt Meadows Autocross.
I hope a few of you do stay, and continue to be an active part of our community, as well as the RS community. But if you are only here to flame the fire, either you can delete your account, or I will. Please try to be mature about it.

From what I know of RS members, most if not all have at some time made a poor decision while on the road (speeding/racing/drifting/ect) but it is not something that the majority of members on here go out to do.
It seems like RS is more a comunity that shares 1 same intreste (cars) and uses that to bring all kinds of people together. That is why I enjoy going to the meets.
For me the car aspect has gotten smaller but I have made some great friends and connections through RS and the meets that they hold.
A community like VU is small but the kind of damage they can do for the local car scene is great.
I remember years back the big bust at Delta Port for street racing. I knew many of those members personally and it really put a target on modified cars around the lower mainland.
On the other hand I understood why the club choose there and wanted to race. They were not taking it to the streets or racing through traffic, they choose a place with controlled environment (as best as that could be) and raced. The local scene for drag racing is pretty lame here, it costs to much for what you get IMO but I still attend because I dont want to do that kind of thing on the street.
The only solution to this problem of people wanting to race is more track time being made available to young men and women who enjoy pushing there cars otherwise you will always end up with these groups of people who do it on there own terms and ruin it for everyone else.

I just.. I dont even... For one, that was VTS. For two Freddy doesn't have that car anymore. Thing with VTS is that there were actually some fast cars that would come out, it wasn't also all about the street race as in doing it in broad daylight with traffic around you (not that it didn't happen) but going to the middle of butt fuck nowhere and running the cars.

I saw you left the forum. Although bennji said it was only temporary??
If you are going to act like a normal person, leave the douchebaggery at the doorstep of VU, and actually be a contributing member of this club, then welcome.
But remember, respect is earned.

ps- if you have permanently left VU, then kudos.
More of its members should smarten up and follow suit.
If I were them, I'd be embarrassed to admit I'm affiliated with them in any way.

Excuse me I left that at the doorstep a long time ago and for the earning your respect I treat everyone equal as you saw at the meet you ass clown I have been hitting up the track for a while. So if you want to treat new members like shit that want to be involved it off legal racing until they earn your respect then I'll pass. Just to let you know I don't sport decals anymore or am I registered as a member of vu because I don't want to be involved in that scene!!!!

You say this, yet you show up to "Cruise For a Cause" and drive like a moron. Talking about doing +180kms on the highway (remember, cruise, not race). TRYING to drift onto the on-ramp to the 99. Coating all the cars with dust and dirt as you "drift" out of the dirt parking lot in White Rock. How about chirping and spinning your tires ever chance you get......doesn't sound to me like you have left much of anything behind.
Decals or no decals, VU member or no VU member, if you drive like a MORON no one wants you around. Show some respect for others around you next time or get shunned from the car scene around Vancouver. Its simple.
Act like an idiot and you will be called out for it.
As for places to drift....there aren't any legal places to drift around Vancouver. If you want to do that there are some places in the states that offer schools and you can learn how to drift there.
Also, not really drifting, but you can try out Auto-X. Its a lot of fun, you get to push the car hard... and from time to time you may slide a but but it is not looked kindly upon at those events if you are trying to drift.
If you have come here for a fresh start, then good for you just clean up the behaviour on the road or do it on your own time when you are the ONLY one who will get hurt from your actions.

If you go into the valley they have some events, and I believe the island too.

They have already been told.
Buddy in the Vett leaving a parking lot with a PLAY GROUND next to it having the need to powerslide out and "impress" everyone.
Glad to see you are going to Auto-X, its loads of fun. Look forward to seeing you out there.
TransAm, Vette, GTS all had a nice run on the highway. There is some in car footage from the Civic that shows them all flying by....either way. Glad to see you have come over to the side of common sense and looking to do things in a more legal fashion.

As for the comments about speeding and or other issues, you are right other people may have done those things.
The highway portion of the cruise was faster then the posted speed limit (85'ish in an 80 for most cars) and this was to keep up with the current flow of traffic.
You are right, the black vette and couple other RWD cars dusted everyone in the parking lot, none got it worse than the yellow vette with the T tops that got rocks thrown all over him and the interior of his car filled with dust and sand.
The difference here between you and these guys is you were coming from a website that openly promoted street racing......this makes us ALL look bad. I enjoy REVscene and the car culture more of the people than anything. We get enough flack from locals and we get shut down or events are put to a halt.
You say you want no part of street racing yet you post about your racing another Skyline?
Don't get me wrong, we have all had out lapses in judgement from time to time when it has come to our cars but this is just plain stupidity.
I sincerely hope you have taken from this far more than just some other car club ragging on you or a club you were part of because there is a lot more here than just that. We want to be able to enjoy our meets without needing to involve cops because people want to drive like idiots. Spring meet was a great example...a select few could very well ruined it for the collective. Don't be one of those guys or you will be asked to leave (not said directly at you BTW, just a very general statement)

I have no plans on ruining any of your meets I just want to be part of a club that can help me out with my racing on the track possibly be able to give me some areas to go where I can open up my car like track days

Sooooo....I found one of VU's side admins cars....sitting at Visions in Coquitlam.
At the same time I was informed by a co-worker that Benji (former member of a cavi forum) was banned from the cavi forums for being a quote "idiot".
I must say tho, I was impressed with the massive decals and impressive wheel gap present on the bone stock cavi that leads this group of non-streetracing street racers.
Hope this guy doesn't work there or I will have to spend my $10,000's that get spent with our company each year for audio stuff else wear. I don't want this fool touching any of the vehicles or be associated with him in any way.
