There's one guy in the comments who is so choked at yahoo because he said the title they used was misleading ("Tupac returns to stage at music fest"). He said that he actually believed 2pac came back..

so i read that coachella started three yrs after tupac died and therefore him yelling "whatsup coachella" is a bit of a mystery (voice synth?) id be curious to watch something on the making of the hologram, pretty cool

Okay. I like to pride myself on knowing the majority of the tricks of the trade when it comes to film work, but that Elvis/Celine clip has me all
I'd normally chalk these "holographic" shots up to a projector shooting onto a transparent screen of some sort. The Tupac one kinda looked that way, at least. However, in the American Idol one, you can clearly watch Elvis walk alongside Celine, plus there's an aerial shot of the two as they walk...
