Hey i'm doing a bit of research on mileage allowances. Can you guys post up what your company pays per km for your vehicle usage?

Would be helpful too if you mentioned what industry or company you work for.

Thanks

My old company had formulas for vehicle size, passengers etc.. not a flat rate but $.50/km seems pretty damn good if you ask me.

50 cents/km as well, though i think it might be higher now. The reason its so high is to cover wear and tear as well.

You should be paid as per CRA's auto allowance rates:

The automobile allowance rates for 2012 are:
•53¢ per kilometre for the first 5,000 kilometres driven; and
•47¢ per kilometre driven after that.

you can be paid UP TO that amount so you can include it into income. That amount is maximum deductible per km driven.

When I was just a regular employee, it was 0.50c a Km

When I became a manager I got a flat rate of $8500. I have to claim it as an expense on my income tax. I didn't even came close to using that amount over the course of the year though.

.44 cents per KM

but since we are typically on a site for extended periods of time, you only get milage after the first stop

IE. go to the office, then drive to job site, you do not get milage from home to office, but you do from office to site

$0.50/km - Agriculture

All KM's are rounded up...to the next 5 or 0.....11km = 15km....or 27km = 30km....ect.

we use Google maps to determine distance and of course look at odometer to ensure that it is close so people do not abuse the system

My last job I got a new truck every couple years (fully loaded with every option available) that doubled as my personal vehicle, they paid insurance and gas. New job I get nothing, mind you I only go out to site like once a week but damm what a difference.

I blame the economy. :)
