I'm in your area. Yes it was down. A simple call to shaw and you could've found it too lol. So far broadband 50 has only gone down 2x for me so I'm still satisfied.

Highly doubt it. There's no SLA's for residential internet. As well a 1 hour downtime for home internet is not gonna net you any credits. Maybe if you really complain hard possibly.

Just checked my connection at home. Still up after the last downtime tuesday night.

I had this exact same argument with them a little under a year ago. I explained that they were charging me for a service they wernt actually prviding, and on top of that costing me money by being down.

Eventually they said I would see a credit on my bill. I hate to admit it, but I totally forgot to check If I actually did get it. Im sure it would have only amounted to a few bucks. Im betting the credit was never applied.

After that same discussion, I did cancel all my other services with them though. The customer service is so bad I just cant justify sepending any more money with them then I have to.

Shaw is telling me the problem must be on my end as they can’t see any problems. I have tried a new router, still happening.

Shaw is sending someone out on Tuesday, but I still think the problem is on their end.

not a bad time to switch to telus' new 50mbps down 10 up connection.
it's sustained unlike shaw and it's possible to get better than advertised speeds....best of all caps are not enforced.

reason why some sites are working fast and others arent has to do with which servers your connections are going through

@Leetastic you should def call in and let them know, see what they can do because they dont know when your individual speeds are lower than your actual plan, but try doing a powercycle first
