We Riot, They Chant out Racial Slurs...

Washington Capitals player Joel Ward scored a game-winning goal in overtime to take Washington Capitals over the Boston Bruins in the seventh game of the first round of the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Shortly after, Bruins fans build a shit-storm of comments so disgusting and appalling it makes me furious. A complete 360 turn -- going from a city of NHL Champion city to a disgusting city composed of lowlives and racists.

If Tim was gay, you might have a point. But in this case, it's just rude fans using a bad word. In the case of Ward, it is horrible racist bullshit.

With that logic, it's equally bad to call a white person a *N-word* as it is to call a black person that word??
Sure some could argue it's still bad, but NO ONE in their right mind would say that it's EQUALLY as bad!

This really isn't a Boston thing only, happens in most sporting arenas, I've heard fans in Calgary, Vancouver and Montreal yell nigger at Iglina, Kane and Stewart before.

And if we went on a window smashing spree yelling "n**gas be hatin'!" we'd be the ultimate hockey town.
Hate to break this to everyone, but there are stupid sports fans in EVERY city.

I am not surprised to hear about these reports of racial slurs from NHL fans. Racism still exists in the world. Heck, some Vancouverites have called me the C-word before. However, I pushed back with a few choice words against those racists.
Sometimes I wonder what Jeremy Lin may go through in the NBA. Asians are not immune from racism too.
That being said, I think there are good people living in Beantown. A friend of mine, a big Irish guy who is from Boston, said that he "loves black women."
He even said that it's true that "once you go black, you don't go back." He's looking forward to a business trip to the Caribbean because he'll get to check out the Caribbean ladies there. He loves Rihanna! :hotbaby:
My friend is such a big Bruins fan, that even wears Rat Face Marchand's T shirt during his gym workouts. I'll tease him about his bad news Bruins losing to the Caps the next time I see him at the gym.

Racism usually hits people where it hurts which is why upset people use it. "How can we impose the most harm without physical violence?" Bam! racism. It's classless and tasteless but a sad reality. Can't say I'm surprised though.

it's just stupid mob mentality, and people finding it humorous that they can all start spamming the word as if it was socially acceptable because of the amount of people doing so.
it's like a bandwagon, on a bandwagon.

I hate to say it but I think some Vancouver fans would have tweeted the n-word as well if we lost the way the Bruins lost. Hurt feelings and anger make people say stupid ass shit. Some people will make comments in private, others are stupid enough to make them public on the internet.
And imo Philly and Boston have the worst and most arrogant fans in sports. Vancouver doesn't even come close to both these cities so it shocked me when Vancouver topped the list of worst fans in North America.

yes i know of boston's location. Southie is the rough part of boston - the ghetto. A lot of blue collar irish and italians live there and like many similar ghettos, it's where most white trash, crime and racism in the area originates.

For what it's worth, Twitter and Youtube comments are what they are.
I don't even bother to read Youtube comments on videos anymore, because you'll see troll talking about "niggers" on videos that aren't even about blacks. It's the internet, people are cowardly, and say things they would never say to a person's face.
What makes me sad though is that a lot of these idiots that make those comments are young kids, a generation that is supposed to be passing the older ideas of racism.
sticks and stones...
classless, but so was rioting
no winners in boston, no winners in vancouver... pretty much a solid view of the majority of humans these days (masses ruin it for the few good)

Mass is weird, it's like the gen pop is overcompensating for the amount of Ivy league schools there....but yet they're a democrat state. Not to mention Kevin Garnett DIDN'T wanna go there because of the race thing.

It's also the state that gave America one of the most liberal presidents in John F. Kennedy and their Governor is a democrat who btw is a black so I agree with you, it's a weird state, even Barry Bonds refused to play in Boston because he was told it was a racist city.

It's kind of ironic since Boston was the first team to have a black player in the NHL...

Dude you're a loser. Sitting here passing judgement making HUGE assumptions. So if you are from Vancouver and disgusted by OPEN, PUBLIC, and IGNORANT racist comments you are automatically a "pussy Canucks fan?"
LOL you're one of those losers who goes around rioting to make our home-team and our home-town look bad. You have nothing positive or productive to say so you make remarks to entice people. Feel free to insert a *umad* picture below my post if you'd like; again since you have nothing to say that is of use, your next move would obviously be that.
I'll save you the trouble:
http://youtu.be/xzpndHtdl9A
For the record, I would probably have to be a die-hard Canucks fan to be actually pissed off at the Bruins as an establishment and city for reasons other than blatant racism. I am a Canucks fan simply for the reason of cheering for my home city. I don't own a Canucks jersey, can't name the starting line nor can I tell you who the top teams in the NHL are. That being said, I think it's fair to say that I win or loose, I go on living my life like any other day.
LOL
