I ate live sushi in Sapporo before. Basically the same thing, but with a fish - was delicious. Interesting experience. Would do again.

Next time I'm in Tokyo, will have to try this frog, and report back.

SkinnyPupp and I ate raw chicken when we were in Japan, something I wouldn't try in North America but is perfectly safe in Tokyo.

And I've eaten frog before. Not quite that...fresh but it's pretty good if prepared properly. I'd eat this no problem...I might ask that the head not stare at me, though. I've eaten plenty of seafood that's still "alive". I had lobster sashimi where the lobster just looks at you funny the whole time. It's not alive...it's just involuntary nerve movement.

...although that one frog looks like he's freakin' out.

the frog is actually dead...he did already remove the insides from the beginning when he beheaded the frog. Its just muscle reflexes, as it happens a few mins to a few hours after with raw frog meat. Happens when you pour some salt on frogs legs too.

That steak on your table wasn't brought to your table dry aged 28 days on the back of a unicorn...it was cut out of the side of a cow that was shocked with an electric charge and then it's throat was probably slit.

I'll try anything once, as long as it's served properly. The restaurant in that video was featured on a popular TV show on the Food Network so they are credible enough for me.

I am pretty sure, the frog is DEAD. This is quite common, i'm very surprised you guys find it shocking. They usually put some sort of seasoning over it which contain salt and makes the muscles contract thus making it seem like it's alive.

Eating frogs is like eating other meats, we just aren't accustomed to it here.
