Primary: Linksys WRT54GL (DD-WRT WDS)
Secondary: ASUS (DD-WRT WDS)

My primary is dying, I'd like to swap it for a N-router that is DD-WRT compatible and would work for my existing network. Any recommendations?

I'm using linksys E3000 running on DD-WRT and works great.

Another good router would be the e4200. That one has amazing wireless signals but down side is its expensive

My secondary router is a G-router, if I buy a N, would I need to roll that back to G to use WDS?

why dont you get the same router? wouldnt it get maximum compatibility?

the e4200 has a great wireless range so you can probably get away with just using 1 wireless point.

Will probably do that.

I need a secondary router for my VOIP and TV setup.

Since you want ddrwt. E4200 is out unless you can find a revision 1. The new ones are using chips that will never be compatible. Unless the source gets released. Unlikely though.

rv180W is a bit pricey but it's amazing once you get over the price, it's awesome.
