i went to Thrifty's and they accepted the printed coupon.
however, i think the prices have gone up. they were $7.99
so after the coupon and after tax, it came up to be $3.95
not exactly free, but it was still a good deal. first time trying them, and these are pretty good.

(7.99 was the flat rate for all of the skinny cow ice creams including sandwich and bars)

Superstore had them for 7.99

Save on foods on cambie and 7th has them for 6.99 gogogogogo

I suspect the stores are now aware of the coupon, thus they mark up the price, which essentially with coupon is 2or3 dollars still cheaper than 7 or 8 dollars without the coupon and so people buy, and then the stores also get reimburse with that $5.

Depends on the cashier. Tell them to adjust the coupon to $4.99 then. Only the super anal cashiers refuse to honour coupons because the value is higher than the price.

Reminds me when Vancouver had the running water issue, where it was murky for a couple of days. The local news did a report on people hoarding a stupid amount of bottled water, and they interviewed this one guy saying, it's all disgusting. He even saw an elderly lady ask a couple for a pack of bottled water from their cart (pallet was all gone, and they had crap loads), the couple said no.

The dude goes over to the couple, takes the pack of water, puts it in the lady's cart.

Not the exact same lines as taking ice cream from Grocery stores, but you get the jist
