Hey guys,

So I have a pair of brand new iphone headphones that broke halfway through. My cat chewed on them, It is a pretty clean cut, anyone know of a place that can just re-solder it? It's not as simple as normal headphones (p/n) since it has a microphone

Places that repair electronics can do it, easily. They might not charge you if all their doing is swatting flies. Something like this can be an easy DIY job. Strip the wires, and then twist them together and tape them. If you want better durability and aesthetics, solder it and then shrink tube the connection point.

^^ strip them, a lot of headphones have a coloured wax coating on them, so grab a lighter and quickly melt the colour off, get some shrink tube twits connections together, if you have some cheap headphones around or old aux cord, strip them, take some of the copper wire and use it to tighten up your connections by wrapping it around the individual colours then heat shrink it all separately :D might not be pretty, but it will work, soldering stuff that small is difficult, plus connection will break because they arnt flexible like the coffer wire you would want to wrap around it, hope this all makes sence! gl

if its the oem apple brand headphones that came with your iphone then its totally not worth fixing

better off buying a brand new one or a diff brand.

you could also go to dealextreme.com and buy a new one for way cheaper

Why bother? The time you spend repairing them...you'd be better off buying new ones. Stock Apple headphones are terrible anyways.

Just get a new pair of headphones. It's a worthwhile investment if you do your research and get some earphones that sound a lot better.

A lot of headphones have microphones too now and are especially made for Idevices. I find thAT the Apple earphones don't fit in my ear anymore lol.

Yup. Agree with what everyone here says.. Trash em. Not worth it to repair cause they're crap.

Any recommended places that can do this? I have a couple busted higher-end sets that I wouldn't mind fixing.

Just like everybody else here.. Apple headphones are not worth fixing. I remember dropping a good pair just once and the sound just goes right to hell

What I do recommend getting if you're picking up a pair with a remote and everything would be this one
