1Gigbit/s = 124megabyte/s. That's pretty fast. Hopefully they bring that to Canada soon.

It's a trial. BTW, does anyone know how the Shaw gigabit Internet trial went? They were planning it way back in 2010, but I never bothered to follow it.

For the free one u have to pay for the installation fee which is about 300 dollars but I think is 5 or 7 years free Internet.
It would take at least 10years or more to get to Canada and I doubt The goggle TV package will be in Canada since CRTC put a lot of restriction on boardcasting limitations in Canada. One of the reasons why Netflix Canada sucks so bad compare to Netflix US...

You'll have to pay $300 of installation fee for the Gigtabit Internet eventually too.
Just that they decided to waive it as a promotion to launch it.
What's $300.....4-5 months of "high-speed internet" from Shaw/Telus?

If 25 mbps is enough for you then you must be using some slow DL service.
Newsgroups will saturate whatever link you have.

Just like Google Voice, I don't think we will be getting this anytime soon because of the CRTC.
