Cool cafes?

So where is a good, cool cafe to go to? Vancouver or Richmond. Doesn't matter if it's a tea, coffee or bubble tea place. Preferably somewhere that is open until at least 9pm on a weekday would be great! Open to all suggestions! Thanks!
Captain Happy Bubble is not an option, as I am going with a lady. :)

Pearl Castle - Richmond - Went with my friend not terribly bad, actually it was okay.
Bubble World - Burnaby (Near Metro) - Decent, typical stuff
It's just your taiwanese food and bubble tea that's either hit or miss but the decor is not that bad

Caffe Citadella
Old heritage house converted into multilevel cafe. Good coffee. Good sandwiches. Good pastries.
Nice place for a small date.

This is the place that has those $4 donuts right?
I'd of recommended Urban Tea Merchant (The Urban Tea Merchant | Welcome | Canada & USA, luxury tea, afternoon tea, all-day tea services, loose tea, tea gifts & accessories | FREE SHIPPING on $100 (http://www.urbantea.com)), Adonia (Adonia Teahouse (http://www.adoniatea.com)) or Secret Garden (Secret Garden Tea Company, Vancouver, BC - Kathy Wyder and Erin McBeath (http://www.secretgardentea.com)) for high tea, but that's in the afternoon and I believe they all close before 9 :( It's worth a trip though just for the snootiness :fullofwin:

Any BBT places that are not too bright and loud? Higher end BBT establishment if such a thing exists? Also fresh fruits for the BBT.
There used to be a BBT place in that mall behind Yaohan Centre, on Cambie between Sexsmith & Brown Rd on the north side of the mall. Is that place still there?

Leisure cafe is fairly dim and most of the time fairly quiet. They have decent desserts/bbt i think. I like the atmosphere in there and the decor.
It's located right beside the kam do restaurant on alexandra road. It has the green and yellow sign on top of the store.

I would stay away from Bubble World Kingsway, music is loud as fuck, loud people inside the restaurant.
Hard to make a conversation with a date or friends!

Probably one of the best bubble teas I've had, but the place has no atmosphere. I would only get take out from there.

Any places like Steeps Tea Lounge on Broadway & Laurel in Richmond or anywhere for that matter that is open later than 9pm? I think I prefer a place that has Asian teas, and is quiet. Good for conversation. I'm still on the hunt for the perfect place, unfortunately...

^^^ I don't know, man...the name is eerily similar to "Captain Happy Bubble." Haha...
Not open till 9, only till 6, but definitely worth going for a different hipster type of coffee.

I've never been, but from what he has told me, its kind of the same but is more for females.
Although, I'm not in town anymore, I hear great things about "Secret Location"

Flo Tea Room

Vancouver, BC

Flo Tearoom (http://www.flotearoom.com/)
They're usually open til 1am, but close at 2am on Fridays and Saturdays. The food and bbt aren't bad. The atmosphere is pretty nice and it's quiet enough to have a conversation without any yelling.

Go to The Lobby Lounge at Fairmont Pacific Rim. Coffee and tea is not too much more expensive than Starbucks, but the ambiance is far superior.

If you're down for some cheesecake, Tree's Organic has excellent brews and the Sin Cheesecake is way good.
They have locations in Vancouver, Downtown, Gastown and Richmond too

+1 for Flo on granville, Flo by RC is crap though.
I wonder if flo granville still does the free thick toast for 3-5pm.
Food is par for hk style cafes and it's a big enough place that you can stay for a while and they won't say anything. I've studied there in the afternoon a few times, free WIFI too.

Yeah, I think I need a place that is more intimate. I need to woo this girl. :)
