We do not want to cause another traffic jam this year and I'm sure you dont want to be stuck in one.

If you miss your timeslot, your reserved parking spots may be be forfeited for general parking use.

Club leaders, please post in this thread to confirm your roll-in timeslot.

I know the roll-in times are early but this is to comply with written warnings we received from city officials last year regarding the traffic mayhem our meet caused. We're just trying to avoid the congestion issues from last year as we know that clubs have started rolling in earlier and earlier every year.

If the roll-in timeslot does not work for you and your club, I can only suggest that you try rolling in after 5 to see what general public spots are available.

We had to do this pretty last minute to allow clubs to submit a more accurate final number for spots. We could have had this ready last weekend, but then the number of people showing up versus the number of spots reserved would have been way off and it would have just been a big nightmare.

as for times, it's as rb says. we got warnings from the city and RCMP for blocking up westminster last year so we want to try to spread everyone out to keep that from happening again this year. and the only way to do that is to get pre-reg clubs in as soon as we can, as fast as we can, as you make up the bulk of the traffic.

if you want, pm and i can give you a time after 6, but keep in mind that is after the start time of the meet and you will be entering the lot with the general entrance traffic and it will be slower. as there will be lots of pedestrian traffic by then.

you've known what time the meet started at for a while now, people should have been planning to show up earlier than that for a while.

People rolling in solo can show up as early as 5pm but no earlier. Anyone trying to roll-in without reserved parking prior to 5pm will be denied entry.

There is a limited number of parking spaces for the general public inside the lot.

I don't understand what the problem is between some of you. Yes, the meet starts at 6, but open your eyes. Your club isn't the only club attending this meet. The public and various other people who aren't rolling in with clubs are expected to come to the meet as well, which is why the roll-in times are "early."

You are given an assigned time for your club to come in. Be thankful that the RS management even put together this organized roll-in, or you'd be otherwise fucked trying to get spots. If you can't make the time, cry more. I'm sure you can make arrangements with your club.

Roll-in when you can. How hard is that to understand?

FVIPC will be there at the scheduled time :) They're leaving Abbottsford around 2:30 to ensure they make it to the meet by their roll in time.

I'm not sure if any of the members are on RS (which is why I've been speaking for them) but I know they appreciate all the hard work you guys have put into the parking situation this year, as do I.

For those of you whining, get over it. The mods and volunteers work really hard to make these meets enjoyable. The least you guys can do is be thankful they're trying to prevent a shit show. Does no one remember the headache of parking last year?

Simply put, these roll in times are to attempt to deal with any clubs that come in unannounced. I was part of the parking crew last year, and when a couple of groups came in without reserving sports, or worse, clubs with like 10+ more cars than they had said, it fucked around with the layout we had and it took a lot of switching on the fly to not get groups who had reserved spots pissed off. Those who came late last year and bitched at us for not having their spots available isn't fun to deal with.

This years staggered roll in is a godsend and if anyone remembers last year, there was no parking if you showed up late, so coming early has become the norm for summer meets. It's just easier on everyone who is volunteering to make sure that the event runs smoothly and there's no conflicts so everyone can enjoy it. If you're bitching about early roll ins, the earliest club last year was I believe the Genesis club who came in at 11AM, two hours before the meet started. Chances are people leave after a couple of hours so you can try to take spots then, but other than that, just try to show up at your time! :thumbs:

After 5 your spot is fair game. Let someone in your crew know that you will be late so that they can tell us. I recommend everyone appoint a contract person and give that number to everyone.
