I have two DD-wrt N-wireless routers, one is Buffalo with Gigalan, and the other is TP-link $20 router. Both internet can reach 100Mbps. Normal browsing is not a problem, but using torrent to download, the router will disconnect after awhile and I will have to reboot to reconnect again.

It is quite annoying if I download large files then go to sleep. Just wonder if this is a bug of DD-WRT or the routers can't handle high speed?

In the meantime, you can try reducing the number of connections allowed in Torrents. There should be a global maximum value, and also a maximum per torrent. Cut them both in half and see what happens.

there are not a lot of connections as I observe, maybe 1/4 or 1/5 of the maximum value. I can't find anything related on google, but one thing for sure my buffalo isn't below average in terms of speed.

Are you seeding a lot of files while downloading? If you are, try pausing them while you download.

I'm thinking the router is probably running low on memory which is causing it to crash.

^ I don't think uploading is a problem, I set it to 200mb/s.
other ports and wifi will be fine, just that particular port gets discounted.

I have a Asus 56u and don't have any issue. The 66u is a good router too.

The Asus 66U is gonna be my next router once I find a good price on it. Time to retire my DIR655.

My netgear one downloads at 50mbps till the cows come home then go back out again.
