1st Place: Porsche 911 Carrera S
2nd Place: Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series Coupe
3rd Place: 2013 Nissan GT-R Black Edition
4th Place: Subaru BRZ
5th Place: McLaren MP4-12C
6th Place: Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
7th Place: Ford Shelby GT500
8th Place: Jaguar XKR-S
9th Place: Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4
I love Porsches.
We all agreed with him. Actually, we really agreed with him. The Porsche 911 received seven first-place votes from the seven judges, and an eighth first-place vote from Randy. In fact, the 911 Carrera S was the only car where we unanimously agreed on its finishing order. Nothing but first-place votes means there wasn't even discussion. Just praise.

They should rename it
"Top 10 cars that the majority of buyer will never be able to afford besides the BRZ"
Other then that, Im surprised the Camaro ranked higher then the GT500.

Apparently the GT500's brakes were shot after one lap. And it was "the only car you have to steer down a drag strip". Power isn't everything.

I'd have a BOSS 302 over the GT500.

Thats very sad, considering how Ford was boasting the GT500's improved chassis structure, brakes, suspension & reduced weight to accomodate for the extra power.

Ya, I thought the Boss was meant more for handling vs the GT500 for raw power.

Camaro rides better because it has the magnetic ride suspension system (vario-damping)

Fuuuu that picture. Really though 911, Boxster, Cayman you can't go wrong with any of those.

But it's an older car already. The cars tested are all new for 2012/2013.

The 991 seemed like the no brainer for me the overall package is impressive, I really wanted the C63 to win but for everyday use it does look a little ridiculous.
As nice as the BRZ is that engine was disappointing/boring for me when I drove it on the FRS, there's no way I would want to take that stock motor to a track day.
Not surprised about the 991.. The electric power steering does make it a little dull but overall the car is awesome

The engine is the biggest let down for me as well, all the wonderful handling isnt enough to make up for it imo. Its weird for a NA motor too, lets off near the top, felt more like its tune for low end if that even made any sense for a 2.0L

I built a Boxster S on the Porsche website and with very little options the car is $90k already :okay:

Doesnt the 63 in c63 and the 6.3 side badge mean the car has a 6.3 motor and not 6.2
jtrinh
08-23-2012, 07:25 PM
Not in this case. The "6.3" displaced 6,208cc. Marketed as the 63 in homage to Mercedes' first production v8 the m100 engine. Which was a 6.3L

You don't know much about the history of Mercedes 6.3 eh?

I agree with the boxster. The cockpit looks like the tumor inthe old one with the roof up. Now it looks much better

Have you driven one? The electric power steering still has good feedback. Less "noise" in the system, just signal.

Yep. It's nothing too bad and I wouldn't let it be a deal breaker imo but I still prefer the feel of 997s
