The situation
It is friday and a long weekend. I went to Wo Fung Noodle Express for dinner which is located 190-8400 on Alexandra Road, Richmond, BC. I parked my car and put my dash camera on parking mode. I ordered a bowl of noodle, 3 piece deep fried chicken wing, and a iced 7up. When I come out the restaurant, I took a cigarette and talked to my friend in a STI. I saw a guy was taking picture for my car, and then he left a ticket on my car. I was like WTF he is doing.

Me: Why did you leave a ticket on my car?
DPS bitch: This is not your car, the owner of the car is a fat guy.
Me:How do you know?This is my car. (I just turn on the alarm.)
DPS bitch: If you can show me the receipt, I will voild your ticket.
Me: OK, I will go back to restaurant and get it.
DPS: OK
I went in Wo Fung noodle house and then come out.
Me: here is the one.
DPS bitch: I can't void your ticket because you park over limit time.
Me: I just stayed in the restaurant for 20 minutes. ( at that time I think I am pissed off.)
DPS bitch: didn't say anything.

I will definitly go exposure this kind of dirty things.
I took my receipt and ticket.
I think I am one of victims from today. The guys still kept handing out tickets to other vehicles.

I entered the restaurant is 18:39. I parked properly in a non-reserved, no handicap parking stall.

Seems like dps are monitoring more lots than before.

Went to maks noodle yesterday and noticed they had a section that was monitored by dps which I never seen before. The signs were all new, it limited customers to 1 hr.

And now I see my main bank branch using dps...Everytime I make a deposit, I had to register my plates.

My fiance's workplace lot uses them too...has this big sign that says "dps cares"... "if your car breaks down or needs assistance or jumpstart dps will assist, if you parked in their lot as paid customer."
Fxck that! I rather fix my car myself otherwise they break something and blame me hahahah

In case you were wondering where exactly the headoffice is.... It's between DQ and Zakkushi, enter from the back and go downstairs straight to the office.

This has happened to me and they voided it... just an annoyance.

Bingo. It's all fine and well to say, "no big deal, just take a couple hours out of your day to go 50 miles out of your way to go to their office and SHOW someone they're wrong"... not everyone wants to waste the time and gas to deal with a bogus ticket, especially when it happens repeatedly.

And of course, they're counting on the 95% of people who will just pay it without a second thought - until someone brings them down, they'll keep preying on those people.

One of the best things to do, is complain to the businesses served by that lot. If they have customers regularly coming in and threatening not to do business there because of unfair ticketing... they'll have a lot more pull with the city to have something done about it.

every time a person gets a DPS ticket first thing is to go in to the store/restaurant, talk to the manager, bitch him out, then tell him you're never coming back and telling your friends not to b/c DPS are crooks and ticket their customers....

hopefully enough bitching and decreased business will force business/property owners will realize it's better to use a more legit parking company (if there is such a thing) because it's going to affect their bottom dollar at some point.

^lol, thanks but its not uncommon for that parking lot, you wont believe how many people get tickets (while they are in staples shopping) for either "exceeded maximum time limit" or "walked of the lot" when it is all just bullshit, they come in saying they got a ticket and one of our managers just ends up writing a note to confirm they were shopping in our store from "such and such times" (obviously the manager would either recognize them, or check the cameras with time stamps).

one time a customer actually brought in one of the ticket issuers to confront him in front of the manager (but the customer actually did walk off the lot, he didn't know it was not allowed even if he did shop at staples, which he did), and like most people said, they are in no way professionally dressed, and did not look like they had any training of sorts. he was a fairly older male, seemed like late 40's with full grey hair and balding.
