That would absolutely suck if you forgot something in the car.

Would have been better if you could stay in your car as it went up.

I've worked on some "living rooms" where the home-owners can drive right in and park their fancy cars. Due to code, they still need smoke/co2 detectors. :lawl::lawl::lawl:

For those that can afford a car in Singapore, the price of that apartment is quite 'affordable' to them.
A Toyota Camry in SIN could easily cost upwards of $150,000+ CAD
Want to buy a Corolla in SIN? It would probably cost the same as you buying a R8 or GTR locally.

It's cool to see, but as an owner it would drive me nuts waiting like 5 minutes just to be placed in a position where I can drive out every day... let alone various other life things that come up. Super inconvenient and impractical.

so the platform which he drives on also goes into that area.. what if theres another car waiting to get in... is there another platform that comes out or does one have to wait for another to leave??
Or does the platform goes back to the owers places after he drives off and when he calls for the lift, the comes out from his place? this would take forever!!

Wtf, why is that? It's so awkward... 100K for a new Toyota Camry???? So...if I bought a 26k Camry here...then brought it to Singapore...That would make me some good money.

:suspicious: if I can afford a 20 million house, I'd damn sure I will have more than 2 cars and will not want to wait 5 mins every time I go out or park my car

No because the government collects 150% tax on the price of the car.

Problem in Singapore is that it's very hard to get parking. You have to have a parking spot before you can buy a car.

Vehicle taxes and registration fees
All motor vehicles imported into Singapore are slapped with a customs duty of 41 per cent ad valorem. There is also a Registration Fee to be paid. The fee is $1,000 for private vehicles and $5,000 for company vehicles. In addition, when a car is first registered (whether new or used), an Additional Registration Fee (ARF) of 150 per cent of the car's Open Market Value is payable. All these make the price of cars here artificially inflated compared to those in the States or Europe.
Overall cost of the car
Registration fee + Cost Price + Road Tax + COE + additional registration fee (140% of OMV) and customs duty (31% of OMV).

That's an interesting system, but for the $$$, I would rather just build a decent house out in the wilderness with a bigger garage.
I guess it comes down to personal preference, if you really like living in the city and love your car(s), I guess it's perfect.

I've driven past a new house nearing completion in the Shaughnessy area on a corner lot. The garage is your typical standalone structure in the back part of the property, leading to the back lane. The side of the garage facing the house is entirely glass. So if you're in the house, you have a clear view of the cars in your garage.
I am curious to see what cars will be parked in this garage...

The size of Singapore is only 704 kmē. The whole country is one city. No wilderness to build a garage.
