I'm reminded of when someone posted a few pictures of Anne Hathaway in her Catwoman costume, and a bunch of people talked about how awful TDKR would be. This was long before the movie or even a trailer came out. It was like 1 or 2 pictures of her on set. I thought to myself, "How stupid do you have to be to discount an entire motion picture over what is essentially a single frame?".

TLDR; it's stupid to rush to judgment about a movie from just a picture.

Yea, there are definitely some POS remakes out there. But it doesn't make sense for me to judge a movie that hasn't come out with even a trailer and say blindly that it'll be horrible, simply because it's a remake.

Man, I remember watching the original way back when.

My parents didn't want me watching it, so when they were out one day, I popped the VHS tape in and started watching it.

The part where he gets blown to shit by 'Red Forman' and his gang... that fucked me up. It was my first real taste of rated R violence!

I'll hold out hope. Out of all the remakes they're doing, this is one franchise that really could use it, even though the originals are classics.

I like that they kept the silver in the beginning though.

With a PG-13 rating, I don't have much hope for the new one. What made Robocop awesome was the violence and blood. This film was originally rated 'X', back before MPAA established an NC-17 rating. The director's cut (http://www.movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=3609994)has a half-minute more of footage that puts the cherry on top of this gore sundae.

Taking an R rated movie down to a mass audience rating changes the movie drastically. PG-13 is going to kill what we know to be Robocop. To have even a chance to compare, it has to have an R rating.

I was introduced to the franchise by the Robocop 2 and TV series and didn't get around to watch the original until I was older so it's not an issue to me.

Was really disappointed as I guess some Latino guy directed it and may have had a budget or something. I could barely watch it after the scene at the Vancouver Convention Center. Just plain old bad ridiculously bad.

A week later the original was on TV and caught an hour of it. Probably spent 15maybe 20 dollars on the video game at sev. Man that was a lot of newspapers delivered back then:( Remember trying to walk like Murphy for a while and Mad magazine at the school library had a pretty good satire. Years later the episode Data from STNG dating some dame gave a good laugh. lol.
