I just got a Mazda Protege 5, and when registering the insurance, the previous owner claimed it did have a Passive Immobilizer, but the insurance agent (and myself) was skeptical as the key itself did not look like it would have it (was just a metal blank), and not sure if the fob itself had a transmitter.

Also, there is a security sticker on the window.

I tried googling but couldn't find a straight up answer.

My 03 Protege5 did not have an immobilizer installed.

Pretty sure my 03 Protege 5 did not have one either. I did not advertise it as such when I sold the car.
