Only one driver had a valid BC class 5 driver’s licence. The other two drivers had Chinese national driver licences valid in BC only while they attended school.

You know that Global was just salivating being able to add that knowing the animosity it will drum up. Like seriously... a "race" at 130km/h on the highway with a 328i and a Land Rover... wtf.

Hahaha that highlights just how rediculous the impound law is. Way to go BC government, you took away someone's mail for the week.

I saw the cars being towed... i may have been driving 130.. the thing is i dont understand how they got impounded, speed limit there is 100km/h, i thought you have to be 40 over to get impounded.

that's just pathetic.

i take that stretch of highway all the time and the average speed of vehicles is 120-130km/h.

If it was actually a race it would've been 200km +
130km is cruising speed while eating and talking on the phone.

It's funny how few people actually read the article, they weren't impounded for excessive speeding...

Witnesses said the cars were passing vehicles on the shoulder of the roadway and following behind each other as they weaved in and out of traffic.

The officers saw the cars as they passed through the Chilliwack area.

Three of the four vehicles were seen attempting to block the traffic from passing, by driving slowly in the travel portion of the highway.

Police say racing drivers will work together to prevent other traffic from passing to allow the racing vehicles a clear area to gain high rates of speed.

I drive through that area often as well. Most cars are usually going 100km/h with a few at 110-115km/h in my experience. It's a pretty rough road with a lot of exits and curves in good weather, and prone to severe foul weather making even 100km/h very hazardous through winter.

Doing 130 on a open highway 4 in the morning isn't really speeding but look how the idiots were driving, not only did they put themselves in danger but they put other motorist in danger as well.

I wasnt aware of the exact details but i just read the story again from the thread in vot

it was 4pm on saturday (a particularly busy day i found) and they were weaving in and out of traffic and speeding down the shoulder as well as trying to slow traffic down while two others "raced"
