He was telling me to run assoc and eventvwr in command prompt, but I refused to. I just acted dumb and let him keep talking while I googled the junk he was saying and it was a scam.

That was new. Luckily my mom didn't pick up the phone or she spoon feed this guy everything he wanted to know!

My mom got one of these calls.. it was an indian lady instead, luckily I was home and still sleeping, so my mom woke me up and told me that some person over the phone is telling her that the computer has a virus.

I went on the phone with my sleepy voice and asked her what she wanted.

Indian lady: Your computer has a virus.
Me: Oh really ?
Indian lady: yes really.

and this went on for 30 seconds and i said, please stop with the scam and after a while she said " okay " and hung up. LOL

They called my mom once too... she doesn't have a computer. Took her 15 minutes to convince them of that fact (or at least, 15 minutes until they figured she wasn't worth the trouble).

I got this call at 5am in the morning, told me my printer was infected and would cease to function unless I pay them at the spot for 49.99 for 3 months for their specially government tuned malware removal tool.

I just hung up and went back to sleep.

I got this call too.... I acted like an 80 years old. The guy run out of his patience but before he hangs-up I told him he was an idiot with a big laugh. He cant believe it.... he's so mad like he wants to throw the phone :)

So he kept going, so I started talking about other random stuff. I asked him what kind of curry does he like? Why did he kick my dog? etc...

I got a call like this last week telling me my widows computer is infected with malware, I replied "so what should I do" then hung up. They phoned back a split second after, he said that he was just speaking with someone regarding malware on our computer and i answered like I had no idea what he was talking about. I told him that this is a big office with a lot of office assistants. He repeated that our computer is infected I replied with which one we have over 100+ PC's at this branch. His response "uh ok thank you sir" all the while its just me in the office on my macbook bored as hell. :ilied:
