: Mounting a TV without damaging the paint?

You know how it goes: mount your flatscreen to the wall... months later need to take it down, but now the mount is stuck to the paint and won't come off without bringing a chunk of color - and probably drywall paper - with it.

Anyone know any tricks to employ when mounting the thing to avoid problems later? Thinking maybe something non-sticky between the mount and the paint, like a piece of wax paper or something?

furniture pads. the stuff you put on the bottom of the chair so it wont scratch hardwood. put the felt side on the wall and the "sticky" side on the mount.

furniture pads ftw! its a really good way of protecting the wall. Wax paper after a while, and because of the heat produced by the tv will lose its waxiness and stick to the wall.
