Like all the way from kensington square to Lougheed mall
Are there any good eats?
I know sushimoto is quite good but that's about it
really tired of going to Richmond or DT for restaurants

x-cite on hastings, right by the library.
good food, great portions and great prices.
there's a different lunch special every day for $5. I think it ends at 4:30pm
its only a 10min bus ride from sfu on the 135

SushiTown is just past Kensington plaza right beside the subway Hastings by Holdom. I don't really have a standard to compare but I find it quite good. Big portions and priced fairly well.
Typical Greek restaurant (Sfinaki I think it's called) across the street from the DQ in the plaza. Never been there but most likely like all the other ones.
Little Billy's before Sperling on Hastings. Went there before the old one burned down and was quite good also. Gets really busy at night during the weekend.
There's a Cockney Kings fish and chips in the Plaza next to the DQ. All you can eat on Tuesdays I think. Not many fish and chip places around.
Edit: +1 on x-cite. Can't go wrong

Great value, good quality and relatively close.
I do suggest making reservations or going early because they are quite busy during lunch/dinner times

X-site's food is kinda boring despite the name but its decent and well priced with plenty of parking in the neighbourhood. Can't complain

I'd recommend Cockney Kings Fish & Chips. The batter on the fish is awesome and price is right.

Donair shop at Cornerstone in SFU was pretty awesome. Haven't been there in a long time.
...and if you want something different. Near Hastings and Gilmore, theres this tiny little mom and pops French restaurant called Chez Meme. They serve awesome hot sandwiches on french baguettes. I usually get the beef bourguignon sandwich and my gf loves the ratatouille sandwich. Onion soup is good too. Price is decent. Just be careful at around lunch time it can get lined up out the door and they can very easily get quite overwhelmed. They also just started serving dinner as well. Good food, but you might have to wait!
It's a very small place that gets quite busy. Not comfortable for big groups.

Jimmys place!?
Pretty ok breakfast. Their burgers intrigue me, but haven't had a chance to revisit. A bit out of the way from SFU as it's down North Road (for those of you wondering, it's to the right of the Petcetera on North Road beside the Extra Foods).
Between this and X-Site, I'm probably going to X-Site.

+1 for Chez Meme,
Also there's a new vietnamese place opened near Gilmore and Hastings, Broken Rice, I personally haven't tried, will be soon though..

X-site is good for the price, but overall very mediocre.

cockney kings is good too.
their large fries is a great deal for the amount they give you.
chez meme is good too. often packed and it's a small place.
also, they close early (i think 3pm) so go earlier.
x-cite i think is your best bang for the buck
